‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Gloria Comes Home For A Christmas Visit, How Will Kevin And Michael React?

After 21 months of waiting, Judith Chapman will finally return to the Young and the Restless for a Christmas Eve special. The Young and the Restless fans are thrilled that she will finally return to the show and will stir up drama for her sons, which is something that Gloria does all too well. Judith sat down with TV Insider and revealed a few juicy tidbits about Gloria’s surprise return to Genoa City.

What we do know about her return is she will arrive back in Genoa City with no announcement, something that will stun Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and Kevin (Greg Rikaart). CBS revealed that Gloria’s return wouldn’t be clear at first, but after some time, it becomes apparent to her two sons. No official word on how long her stint could be, although from the sound of it; it will span at least a few days.

Judith isn’t sure how they will address her absence. It has been nearly two years and so much has happened. The Young and the Restless writers missed an opportunity to show her bond with Michael while he battled cancer. We can expect that Gloria is coming around for some reason, and knowing Gloria, it will be complicated.

Judith explains, ” You never know with Gloria. Has she been in jail? Is she a bag lady now? Has she been playing the castanets in Madrid? She added,” Do I put the Gloria fingernails back on? Should they be “Jungle Red”? Or perhaps “Black is the New Orange”? All will be revealed!”

The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate that Gloria wants to reconnect with her sons. She feels awful about the time apart and wants to check in with them to make sure they are doing well. We can expect Gloria to ruffle a few feathers as she comes to Genoa City, and if history repeats itself, that will start with the Abbott family.

“I can tell you that Gloria wants to be reunited with her sons. She has always been led by her heart. That’s why she followed Jeffrey to the ends of the Earth, but it’s time to be with her boys, especially because it’s Christmas,” Chapman noted. “And, of course, Gloria will have the perfect dramatic entrance. She just shows up. Unannounced. Uninvited. Maybe unwelcome.”

She Knows Soaps reports that the Young and the Restless head new writer, Sally Sussman is a huge Gloria fan. The Young and the Restless fans hope that Gloria will stick around in the storylines in the coming months. Many fans had accepted the fact that Gloria might never return to Genoa City.

“This is all such a nice surprise. I had truly made peace with the idea that I would never be called back to the show and that I was going to be a full-time yoga teacher, which is what I’ve been doing lately,” Judith explained. “I certainly hadn’t stepped away from acting by choice. It was more like there was suddenly no place for me in the evolution of soap operas, or whatever. But, in a way, I’m in show business when I teach yoga. I get up in front of a room full of people and direct them into weird physical states, and they do what I say!”

The Young and the Restless fans, are you excited about Judith Chapman’s return as Gloria next month? Would you like for her to stick around in Genoa City for good?

Look for Judith Chapman to return to The Young and the Restless on Wednesday, December 21 for the Christmas Eve special.
