‘The Mistletoe Promise’: Hallmark Movie Pairs Christmas Travel Agent, Lawyer, In Magical Love Story Based On Book, Stars Luke Macfarlane, Jaime King

The Mistletoe Promise is a delightful new movie that is slated for the Hallmark Channel this weekend. Called the “Heart of Christmas,” Hallmark doesn’t miss a beat with their slew of romantic holiday movies year after year. The Mistletoe Promise is directed by David Winning and based on the book by Richard Paul Evans. Like the novel, the movie is centered on a promise between two strangers who vow to fool everyone into thinking they are a couple during the Christmas holidays. But, they must agree to keep their relationship strictly platonic. It stars Jaime King as Elise, Luke Macfarlane as Nick, and Lochlyn Munro as Dan, according to It’s A Wonderful Christmas.

Hallmark Movie: The Mistletoe Promise Synopsis

Elise Donner is co-owner of a travel agency that she shares with her cold-hearted ex-husband. Since the divorce, he’s done nothing but make things hard for her, including how he runs his half of the business. For a second, Elise thinks it would be nice to make her ex jealous by finding a date for the holidays. She certainly doesn’t want to be alone again this year. But she also refuses to call a dating hotline.

Out of nowhere, she meets Nick, a handsome and powerful attorney, at the local mall’s food court. It turns out, he is also single. They connect immediately and begin discussing their disdain for being single during the Christmas season. For Nick, it could mean his career. He wants to make partner at his company’s prestigious firm. But, he won’t be considered unless he can appear as more of a family man by having a girlfriend, at the very least.

Suddenly, Nick decides that it would be great if Elise could pretend to be his girlfriend and attend the upcoming Christmas party. For Elise, this is the opportunity that she has been waiting for. Nick is handsome, successful, and charming; just the kind of man who could make her former husband insane with jealousy.

To make it happen, they must agree to keep the relationship platonic by entering into a contract they call the “mistletoe promise.”

However, strong romantic feelings begin to arise between them as they attend Christmas functions and take a trip together.

It seems that the magic of Christmas is making them realize that love around the holidays makes it all worthwhile. Will Elise finally get her new man or will she begin to suspect that Nick has his eye on a girl at the office?
