Selena Gomez announced earlier this year that she was canceling the remaining dates on her Revival Tour to focus on her health. The “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” singer explained to fans that she had discovered that the side effects of lupus, from which she suffers, include anxiety and depression. Gomez, therefore, chose to take a break to tackle those concerns. Soon after that statement, she checked into rehab.
Us Weekly revealed that “multiple sources” confirmed that the singer was in rehab, telling readers that the 24-year-old “has been recovering at a Tennessee treatment facility.” She reportedly entered rehab soon after her August 30th announcement about her decision to take a hiatus to get help for her “anxiety, panic attacks and depression.”
The decision resulted in the cancellation of the 34 dates left on her Revival tour.
“Selena is dealing with lupus, but this break is to focus on her mental health,” one of the sources revealed.
“She can go to a very dark place.”
The treatment center is located outside of Nashville, and is “super intense,” while providing Gomez with a “private and quiet place” to heal.
But despite making the decision to seek treatment, it reportedly hasn’t been easy for the “Hands To Myself” songstress in the facility. Helping to lift her spirits, however, were visits from both Ed Sheeran and Jennifer Aniston, as the Inquisitr reported.
But where is Justin Bieber, her former boyfriend, on the visitors’ list? Bieber was told to stay away from his ex-girlfriend, according to a source cited by the Hollywood Gossip.
“[Selena’s family] recently reached out to Justin and told him to stay far, far away.”
Moreover, her family allegedly didn’t stop with telling Bieber to stay physically away from their daughter. In addition to banning Justin from visiting Gomez, they informed the Biebs that he is “banned from calling, texting, emailing.”
The strict guideline comes from her family’s belief that Bieber is to blame “for much of her downward spiral,” added the insider. That blame may result from the battle that Selena and Justin staged on Instagram in August, just before her statement revealing her plan to take a hiatus.
The Instagram war resulted from Bieber’s threat to fans that he would delete his social media account because they were so rude to his gal pal Sofia Richie. Gomez joined the fight, defending Justin’s fans.
“If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol — it should be special between you two only,” she advised Bieber. “Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you.”
Although Selena subsequently linked lupus to her emotional difficulties such as anxiety and depression, the Hollywood Gossip cites insiders who alleged that “the real issue was her very public, very embarrassing fight” with her former boyfriend.
“Selena lost it,” shared one of the sources. “She can be fragile emotionally and Justin is a major factor.”
But despite that battle, Justin still wants to be in his former girlfriend’s life, according to a source cited by MTV.
Consequently, Bieber is paying for her rehab stay, revealed the insider.
“He’s been sending her hundreds of thousands to pay for everything from private jet bills to the recent stay in rehab.”
Justin has two reasons for sending Selena all that money, clarified the source, who explained that it provides him a way to stay “in her life, as well as making himself feel less guilty for screwing her over.”
Despite being ordered by Gomez’s parents to stay away from their daughter, Bieber reportedly wants to stay in his former girlfriend’s life so much that he even visited her in rehab, according to iTechPost.
The media outlet told readers that speculations about Justin still caring for Selena increased after he split up with Sofia Richie.
“Fans of the couple believe that they are sorting things out now and Bieber might just be what Selena needs to get better.”
As for the allegation that Justin is paying for Gomez’s rehab to “feel less guilty,” however, Gossip Cop denies that story.

Instead, a source close to Gomez told Gossip Cop it is “untrue” that Bieber is paying for her treatment or any other items.
