Selena Gomez Ignores Brad Pitt Divorce Rumors, Continues To Treat Symptoms Of Lupus In Rehab

Selena Gomez has been linked to rumors of involvement with Brad Pitt’s divorce for the past several weeks, but rather than address the ongoing rumors, Gomez has chosen to instead focus on her ongoing treatment in rehab.

As the drama between Brad Pitt and his estranged wife, Angelina Jolie, plays out, Selena Gomez’s name has been thrown into the mix as a possible reason behind their recent split.

On October 31, News Everyday claimed Selena Gomez may be getting the worst of the split between Pitt and Jolie and it was all due to an old photo of the two of them. As the outlet explained, Selena Gomez shared a photo of herself and Pitt on Instagram after they both attended the 2016 Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles earlier this year.

According to the report, Selena Gomez had previously admitted that she found Pitt to be attractive and in the caption of her photo, she revealed that she and the actor were discussing The Big Short, a 2015 film in which they both starred.

Although Selena Gomez and Brad Pitt haven’t been seen together since they came into contact at the Golden Globe Awards, rumors have been swirling in regard to the singer being “instrumental” in Pitt’s divorce. That said, there has been no solid evidence of any such thing and Gomez remains focused on her health as Pitt and Jolie prepare to part ways.

Months ago, Selena Gomez announced she was stepping out of the spotlight and canceling her Revival World Tour in an effort to get her health back on track.

“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways,” Selena Gomez said in a statement to People Magazine on August 30. “I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges.”

“I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off. Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best. I know I am not alone by sharing this, I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues,” she continued.

Following the announcement, many wondered if Selena Gomez was hiding a possible addiction to drugs or alcohol but according to a People Magazine source, the singer was not involved with any substances.

Selena Gomez’s decision to take time off is “absolutely not related to alcohol or substance abuse” and was prompted after the singer “hadn’t felt like herself” for the last couple of months, the source explained.

“[Selena Gomez] decided to clear her calendar for the year in order to have this be her priority for future happiness and didn’t want to leave any promoters at bay,” the source added. “She feels relieved that she can now make more sense of why she was feeling the way she was and is optimistic about the future.”

Since entering treatment, Selena Gomez has been keeping a low profile. Although the singer was photographed a few times in Tennessee, where she is believed to be in treatment, she has remained completely silent on social media.
