‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 7 Alleged Plot Leak: The Top 9 Most Believable ‘Spoilers’

Warning: The following article contains (possible) spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 7

Ever since word of the alleged Game of Thrones Season 7 plot leak has spread online, fans have been trying to separate fact from fiction.

While the original post containing the supposed leak has been deleted by its poster (awayforthelads), it has since been recompiled by another user (maureencreates), and posted on the subreddit: /r/FreeFolk.

Having previously covered a list of the least believable “spoilers”, here is a list of the 9 most believable ones from the alleged Game of Thrones leak. We begin with the Stark siblings…

1. Sansa and Jon clash when she wants to punish the Houses who refused to fight for them by taking their lands and giving them to the ones who did.

This proposal and Jon (Kit Harington) and Sansa (Sophie Turner) disagreeing on it, is believable. Sansa’s taste for vengeance is now legendary after she settled the score with her crazy husband in Game of Thrones‘ epic episode “Battle of the Bastards.” Jon on the other hand, is not a big fan of retribution, rather justice.

When the Stark siblings were campaigning for support to take back Winterfell in the Game of Thrones Season 6 episode “The Broken Man,” Lord Glover (Tim McInnerny) refused to answer their call. House Glover is one of the Houses Sansa would presumably want stripped of its lands.

When Jon was declared King in the North, Jon accepted Lord Glover’s apology for refusing to aid them. He would not dishonor that.

Spoiler Credibility: 9/10

2. Jon rules against Sansa’s punitive proposal, arguing that he will not punish the children for the sins of their fathers.

Rose believing he is the illegitimate son of Ned Stark, Jon has spent his entire life paying for something that was outside of his control. It is reasonable he would not want to punish the descendants of the North for their father’s choices. Spoiler Credibility: 9/10

3. Jon’s decision not only frustrates his sister but stalwart Snow supporter, Lyanna Mormont. Undeterred, he asserts that he is the King in the North now and will handle things his way.

Jon so boldly declaring his decision is a bit surprising, but he is the King in the North. The facts are the facts. Spoiler Credibility: 7/10

4. Jon puts Sansa in charge of Winterfell when he leaves for Dragonstone.

Leaving Sansa in charge, right after disagreeing about a key verdict is disconcerting. However, he would have no one else he could reasonably defer too. With Davos (who is basically his Hand) heading with him to Dragonstone that leaves Sansa. Spoiler Credibility: 10/10

5. In an off-the-books meeting, Tyrion tries to convince his brother to surrender to Daenerys’ forces. Jaime refuses.

It is Jaime’s (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) modus operandi to never surrender and when it comes to defending his sister/lover, he will fight anyone in the Game of Thrones universe to protect her, even his beloved brother. Spoiler Credibility: 9/10

6. Daenerys instantly reveres Jon. Her feelings go unreciprocated. When Davos mentions Jon’s resurrection, he modestly downplays it.

Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) instantly taking a shine to Jon is a spoiler that is hard to believe. Let’s face it. She is a tough sell and nice guys are not necessarily her forte.

Jon not being impressed by her is slightly more credible. He has a tendency to step outside of the box of everyone else’s opinions, why not vary on Daenerys? Every other character on Game of Thrones is in awe of her so it stands to reason, Jon would not be.

Jon downplaying his resurrection is par for the course. It is nice to imagine someone else thinking it is worth mentioning though. Thanks Davos (Liam Cunningham)!

The Jon/Dany portion: 6/10

The Davos portion: 9/10

7. Tyrion tries to dissuade Dany from attacking King’s Landing with her dragons, by pointing out the potential innocents that could be caught in the crossfire (literally). Tyrion also tries to convince a skeptical Jon that Dany is the best choice for Westeros.

Ever the peacemaker and consummate Game of Thrones diplomat, it makes sense that Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) would try to convince the combat-loving Daenerys to hold her dragons.

Tyrion trying to persuade Jon that Dany is the right choice for Westeros, also makes sense. Tyrion might have a harder time convincing Jon than he expects. Jon and his aunt have differing perspectives on pretty much every major life philosophy, chiefly warfare. He tries to avoid it and she incites it. Spoiler Credibility: 9/10

8. During her journey back to Winterfell, Arya crosses paths with her long-lost Direwolf, Nymeria.

Her siblings are not the only ones Game of Thrones fans have been clamoring to see Arya (Maisie Williams) reunite with. The last time Arya saw her beloved Direwolf, she had to set Nymeria free to spare her Cersei’s (Lena Headey) wrath. With the Starks’ return to prominence, it stands to reason their mascot would too. Spoiler Credibility: 7/10

9. Jon and Theon come face-to-face for the first time since Theon betrayed the Starks. It is not a pleasant reunion for Theon as a livid Jon, explains that he is only sparing Theon’s life because he helped Sansa escape from Ramsay.

Given the recent spate of set photos shared by Winter is Coming, this Game of Thrones spoiler is all but confirmed. While we do not know the words that are exchanged between them, it is obvious from the photos that Jon and Theon (Alfie Allen) have a heated reunion.

As it turns out, Theon was right to worry about his life. As you might recall, he refused to escort Sansa to Castle Black out of fear that Jon would execute him when he arrived. Theon is a lot of things and dumb is not one of them. Spoiler Credibility: 10/10

We will all officially find out which of these come true, when Game of Thrones Season 7 bows, next summer on HBO.
