While the promotional trailer for Fifth Shades Darker does confirm Jamie Dornan is continuing his role as Christian Grey, speculation has started to swirl regarding whether or not he would retain the role for the third installment. In fact, iTech Post speculated that Jamie Dornan’s wife Amelia Warner could be jealous of his role in the three films. Could he be walking away from the role because of his wife?

There are some reports that suggest Jamie Dornan made the decision to quit his role as Christian Grey because he felt mocked and ridiculed for playing the role. It didn’t take long for the rumors to start circulating that the decision had been made to replace Jamie with Ian Somerhalder from The Vampire Diaries after the initial rumor that he quit had surfaced.

Unfortunately, The Vampire Diaries fans will have to just imagine Ian Somerhalder having a steamy romance with Dakota Johnson in Fifty Shades Freed. While anything is possible in Hollywood, it is extremely unlikely that Jamie Dornan will be replaced by Ian Somerhalder in Fifty Shades Freed.
The bottom line is – Jamie Dornan has not quit or stepped away from the Fifty Shades franchise, and Ian Somerhalder is not replacing him.
