Zayn Malik’s One Direction Tribute Is A Wall Dedicated To The Boy Band

Zayn Malik recently revealed that he cherishes One Direction so much that he has a wall in his house that is dedicated to the boy band that made him a star.

Zayn Malik had been a member of One Direction since 2010 after the group was formed at X Factor auditions. The band went on to experience mind-blowing success with their music as well as earning their place in the history books. Malik, however, decided to leave the group in 2015 to pursue a solo career. Despite his exit, he claims that he still loves One Direction and that is one of the reasons he has a wall that is specifically dedicated to the band.

“I can honestly say I’m proud of a lot of stuff from the One Direction days. I’m not sure people realize that, but I am,” stated Zayn Malik.

Malik’s wall, which is dedicated to One Direction, is proof that he still has some sentimental attachment to the group and values the time that he was a member of the band. Zayn is currently working on his own memoir which is titled Zayn. He explains how he is appreciative of the band in a section of his memoir. Teen Vogue managed to get access to some of the content he has written in the memoir which states that he is appreciative of all the supportive fans that he got to meet. He also thanks them for their support through thick and thin.

“I’ve got the memorabilia – the platinum discs we received with every album – all over my house. I have a wall dedicated to displaying them. One Direction was an incredible experience in its own right, and it’s a part of me, an integral part of my history, and I’m never going to deny that aspect of my life,” added Malik.

Zayn’s sentiments about the band are the opposite of what he said shortly after leaving One Direction during an ongoing world tour in 2015. At the time, Malik stated that he never wanted to be a member of the band in the first place and that he just decided to go with it at the time because it was there. He also went ahead to state that the music that the band produced was not the kind that he would listen to. Malik also made it clear that it was not an insult but rather the opinion of a 22-year-old man.

Malik’s statement about the band after his exit might have been a bit harsh at the time, hinting towards existing disagreements with the rest of the group or the management. However, it is not clear what really transpired that made him decide to exit One Direction. Zayn Malik’s recent sentiments about the band highlight a more appreciative part of him, and rightfully so because the boyband has experienced a lot of success and global recognition during the few years since the launch of One Direction. Earlier this year, Malik was interviewed by Complex where he stated that he was never ungrateful about the band, even though it appeared that way when he claimed that he was frustrated by the band.

The former One Direction member went on to add that the frustration was as a result of the experience that he was going through at the time. Now that he is doing his own music, he is more at ease because he gets to express himself, and he also doesn’t have to face creative tension anymore. The latest scoop on Zayn Malik suggests that he is now at peace with the band, and he still has a soft spot for One Direction, judging by the dedicated memorabilia wall.
