The new Little Mix album, Glory Days, is almost ready to be released, but the band is getting ready for Halloween in the meantime with a shout out to a One Direction ex you might not be expecting.
According to Digital Spy, Little Mix fans are counting down the days, and the November 18 album release date cannot get here soon enough. Since September, Little Mix has been releasing singles off Glory Days, and “Shout Out to My Ex” has flown to the top of the charts.
Obviously, Little Mix is on fire, and this is great news since they will be starting a tour in America with Ariana Grande in February, 2017, according to Headline Planet.
Despite this, Little Mix is having fun with Halloween themes, and this is not surprising considering they love posting pictures of themselves wearing fantasy makeup.
For example, Leigh-Anne Pinnock posted a picture to promote the video for “Shout Out to My Ex,” and her makeup included self-adhesive rhinestones.
Leading the early way for Little Mix’s Halloween dress-up sessions are Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards. Interestingly, the reason that Jade Thirlwall was dressing up was due to a housewarming party with Liam Payne’s ex, Danielle Peazer.
Danielle Peazer posted pictures of herself on October 29 wearing an Edward Scissorhands costume, and it is likely she had the help of Little Mix stylist, Aaron Carlo. In several pictures, Jade Thirlwall has a 1950s look, and this may have been influenced by Detox Star of the famed television show, Ru Paul’s Drag Race.
In another Instagram post, Jade Thirlwall mentions that her Halloween costume was put together with help from stylists Adam Burrell, Aaron Carlo, and Heidi North.
Perrie Edwards also had a post on Instagram dressed in a Poison Ivy Halloween costume on October 28. In the post, she mentioned that makeup artist Anna Lingis put together her costume, but it is not clear if Perrie Edwards wore it to the housewarming party for new roommates, Jade Thirlwall and Danielle Peazer.
However, this is not the only fun thing happening in the world of Little Mix. For instance, Bryan Cranston, of Breaking Bad fame, recently did a humorous reading of the lyrics of “Shout Out to My Ex” in the voice of his character Heisenberg, but meant no shade toward Little Mix, according to Billboard.
Little Mix has also been getting support from fellow singers, according to Daily Star. Fellow X-Factor participant Louisa Johnson recently said Little Mix were role models, and said she was not sure why Little Mix’s outfits were such an issue.
“It’s upsetting because so many young kids have body confidence issues and are ashamed to dress how they want,” Louisa Johnson said.
While some areas of Little Mix life are fun, others are full of drama. For example, the latest news about another all-female singing group is that the former Spice Girls member, Mel C, is not actually mad at Little Mix. According to BBC, Mel C tweeted that she blames the media for making up drama between herself and Little Mix.
Other gossip boiling to the surface is that Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards is no longer in a relationship with actor Luke Pasqualino.
“There wasn’t that spark between them, so she’s told him there won’t be any romance between them moving forward,” insiders claim, according to Sugarscape.
Alternatively, there may be some real relationship drama on the horizon for Little Mix because they have been talking about Perrie Edwards’ past commitment with One Direction’s Zayn Malik — and now Zayn will have a chance to retaliate.
Little Mix’s song, “Shout Out to My Ex,” has been identified as a song that talks about Zayn Malik and how he treated Perrie Edwards during their relationship. Little Mix also wrote a book released in October that is called Our World.
Little Mix might not get the last word on matters between Perrie Edwards and Zayn Malik because Daily Mail said that Zayn was also writing a book about his life, and he plans to reveal even more Little Mix secrets.
One area of Little Mix drama that is not likely to resurface is getting dropped by their record label. With a top-selling tour in 2016 and songs reaching the tops of the charts, Little Mix is here to stay, but things were not always running so smoothly.
According to Daily Star, Little Mix was lucky to have success with Get Weird because the record label was putting pressure on them.
“When we got together at Perrie’s house and listened to what we’d come up with, we had a bit of a breakdown and a panic. Some of it was good but it didn’t fit together and we were worried the label would drop us,” Jesy Nelson said.
