Watch World Series Game 5 Live Stream: Indians Vs. Cubs Start Time, Pitching Matchup — Can Indians End Cubs Dream?

A sensational pitching performance by Corey Kluber and the Cleveland Indians bullpen have pushed the Chicago Cubs to the brink of seeing their World Series dream die, with a Game 4 defeat on Saturday. Now Game 5 will live stream from Wrigley Field on Sunday as the Cubs, trailing three games to one, turn to their lefty ace Jon Lester to keep their chances of winning their first World Series since 1908 alive.

The Indians have also gone decades without bringing a World Series title home to Cleveland. Their last one came in 1948. But on Sunday night, they have their best opportunity to win the World Series since October 26, 1997, when they played Game 7 of that year’s Fall Classic against the Florida Marlins — only to come up just short, with an excruciating 3-2 loss in 11 innings.

Lester will need to tighten up his performance from Game 1 of the World Series when he surrendered a pair of runs in the first inning and three altogether over 5 2/3 innings, allowing six hits and walking three.

Of course, the Cubs bats will also need to do better, supporting Lester with zero runs as they sank to a 6-0 defeat in the opener.

The Indians counter with righty Trevor Bauer, who was also shaky in his World Series debut, lasting just 3 2/3 while giving up two runs and six hits, along with a pair of free passes, taking the loss as the Cubs’ 5-1 win gave the team that won 103 games in the regular season — more than any other team in baseball — their only win in the World Series so far.
