‘Pretty Little Liars’ Snags Olympian Swimmer Missy Franklin

Looks like another show has snagged an Olympian swimmer post London Olympics. This time it’s teen swimming sensation Missy Franklin. The 17-year-old Franklin is reportedly set to guest star on an upcoming episode of the popular ABC Family drama Pretty Little Liars.

The four-time gold medalist, will of course play herself, and will turn up at The Brew where swim team member Emily (Shay Mitchell) currently works. Of course, Franklin causes a big splash and the characters are shocked to see the one and only Missy Franklin strolling through town. Emily and Missy are said to spark up a conversation, about what else — swimming.

Missy Franklin is the second Olympic swimmer to appear on a television show. The first is none other than grill-wearing “jeah!” trademark enthusiast Ryan Lochte who guest starred on The CW’s 90210. In addition to Lochte and Franklin, the US gymnasts have been getting in on the action as well. McKayla “not impressed” Maroney and Gabrielle Douglas have guest starred on Hart of Dixie and The Vampire Diaries respectfully.

The teenage swimmer Missy Frankin came back from this year’s Olympics with a list of accomplishments. Franklin currently holds the world record for her 200-meter backstroke and has the US record in the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke as well.

In the meantime, Pretty Little Liars is set to air their Halloween special next Tuesday and will return with the remainder of the season next year.
