‘Supernatural’ 12×4: Sam And Dean Are Priests Fighting ‘Children Of The Corn’ Evil? ‘American Nightmare’ The Ultimate Winchester Case? [Spoilers]

Supernatural Season 12, Episode 4 is titled “American Nightmare.” The synopsis and a promo clip have been released. They tease that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) could be dealing with a Children Of The Corn-type of situation. Will this be the ultimate case for the hunters?

Supernatural Season 12 spoilers are ahead. Do not continue reading if you don’t want to know what could happen on The CW TV show.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, new showrunner Andrew Dabb teased that there will be new cases in Season 12, but the show would go back to its roots. It seems the past few seasons were quite a bit different, so it is refreshing to see the Winchester brothers back trying to save people one case at a time. Sometimes, their resurrected mother, Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) will join them. Even though she has her own style and way of doing things, viewers seem to like her. There is even a bit of humor when she seems confused about modern technology.

However, the last episode of Supernatural ended sadly. Mary decided that she couldn’t stay with her children, who are now grown. She revealed that she is still mourning her young children. That is the last thing that happened before she was tragically killed. Being brought back from the dead allowed Sam and Dean to get to know their mother, but it creates some issues for Mary Winchester. In the end, it makes Sam and Dean feel abandoned by their mother all over again. Even though leaving was not her choice the first time since she was murdered, to a child, it does feel like a form of abandonment.

Some issues that Supernatural fans have with Mary Winchester is that she seems more attached to Dean than to Sam. Although it is true that she had four years to bond with Dean, but died when Sam was a baby, viewers were hoping that she would connect on a deeper level with her youngest child.

With all of that being said, what is going to happen on the next episode? The synopsis for Supernatural Season 12, Episode 4 was released by the Spoiler TV. It states that something very strange is happening and the Winchester brothers go to investigate.

“Sam and Dean investigate a case that leads them to a devout religious family that lives off the grid. The brothers realize that the parents are hiding a huge secret that could destroy them all. Meanwhile, Dean struggles to accept Mary’s latest decision.”

If that doesn’t sound strange, then watch the promo clip. Sam and Dean will show up in Supernatural Season 12, Episode 4 dressed as priests. It is teased that they might be dealing with a Children Of The Corn-type of thing. Then, promo photos show the Winchester brothers wearing fuzzy cardigans.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, this might be the Supernatural episode that was teased would feature them acting like social workers. One image shows Sam down in a basement sitting cross-legged on the floor. He doesn’t appear to be frightened, but the people around him are on guard, like they are expecting someone or something to attack. Most likely, this probably has to do with a child, but what could possibly threaten to “destroy them all?” It must be something bigger than possession since the family is extremely religious.

What do you think is going to happen with Sam and Dean Winchester? What kind of strange force could destroy them all? Will this be their ultimate case or is something more natural going on? Find out when Supernatural Season 12, Episode 4 airs on November 3.
