Official Destiny’s Child Instagram Has Fans Freaking Out Over Possible Reunion

Is there going to be a Destiny’s Child reunion? Fans are certainly starting to think so after the official Destiny’s Child Instagram account just showed up out of nowhere days ago.

There are plenty of Destiny’s Child fan accounts on Instagram, but until recently, the group didn’t have an official account of their own. So far, only three pictures have been posted, and the group only follows four people. However, their fan base is growing steadily and as of this writing, there are nearly 22,000 fans following Destiny’s Child on Instagram.

The original incarnation of the Beyonce-led super group made up of Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett. After a little restructuring, the final member list included Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams, who split back in 2006. Is it just a coincidence that it’s been 10 years since they went separate ways and now Destiny’s Child seems to be finding each other again? Keep in mind that next year will also mark 20 years since Destiny’s Child came together, making it the perfect time to launch a full reunion.

With the launch of their new and very official Instagram account, fans are hoping this means Destiny’s Child is getting ready to reunite for a tour or an album or anything really that will bring us all back to the nostalgia of 1999’s “Say My Name.”

The official Destiny’s Child Twitter account has been around since July 2012, so maybe there is nothing to the addition of an Instagram account — or maybe there is. Fans want to believe that the addition to the group’s social media presence so close to the 20th anniversary of the group’s formation means something, though.

Destiny’s Child made four studio albums, including Writing’s on the Wall and Survivor, the most popular albums during their nine years together. While their new Instagram account has sparked rumors of a reunion, is unclear if that will be happening. If it does, there is no telling if it would mean that the group would reunite for good, for a tour, an album, or even just for one show. What is for sure is that their fans would be excited about any level of a Destiny’s Child reunion, and they are currently freaking out over the idea that it may just happen.

The new Destiny’s Child Instagram account was started a week ago and is run by Legacy Recordings and Sony Music Entertainment. The group’s official Twitter account announced the launch of the Instagram account on Thursday, which is part of the reason the reunion rumors have gained so much traction in such a short amount of time. Although no one from the group or the label has commented on whether there are more plans for a reunion in the upcoming year, the activity related to Destiny’s Child as their 20th anniversary approaches really makes it look like a reunion of some sort is about to happen.

Destiny’s Child went their separate ways back in 2006 so that the active members could work on their own solo careers. They never lost touch in the years since and have even come back together at one point to record on Michelle Williams’ Journey To Freedom album in 2014. Kelly and Michelle were also a part of Beyonce’s Super Bowl performance in 2013.

Kelly Rowland has come forward to deny talks of a 20th anniversary Destiny’s Child reunion, according to the Mirror.

“We haven’t even talked anything about that. We’ve just been enjoying each other’s company and love and enjoying being women,” Kelly said. “We just had dinner last night! [People] often look at us sideways, like, ‘Are we really seeing this?’ It’s really cute.”
