So It Turns Out Hillary Likes To Rig Elections After All

It feels like we’re winning, guys. At long last, it finally feels like our great political awakening is on its front foot in this fight.

It’s felt this way for more than a day now, ever since Chelsea Clinton exposed her desperation by having the publication she directs run a late smear piece on the supposedly-irrelevant Jill Stein.

The FBI has declared that no one is above the law, and announced they are resuming investigations of the email scandal. To me, personally, that sentence was a great comfort. It had occurred to me many times that the woman who seems above the law was about to become in charge of the law, and that should put a chill in the heart of every American. A lawless leader is not conducive to democracy.

Can we add “incoming dictator” to our vocabulary when speaking of Hillary Clinton? A picture is building that way, for sure. When you are powerful enough to rig an election for yourself, that means you are able to dictate the will of the people. Which, you know, is an awful lot like an actual regular dictator.

Obama appears affronted by the suggestion that the general election might be rigged. “Why, we haven’t rigged an election since Bernie!” He puffed huffily. “What makes you think we’d do it again?”

Well, okay, he didn’t say that, but I’d like him a whole lot more if he did. See, I’m a straight-up kinda gal, and I like my totalitarianism blatant. If I was to order my totalitarianism at the bar, I’d be ordering a double straight. No half-assed slimy mojito of a totalitarian regime for me, no thanks. I want the kind where you know you’re being lied to but you can’t do anything about it on fear of death or incarceration. And yeah, I know that’s kinda what we got now but we’re still being so polite about it. This pretend air of democracy has to go.

The Observer broke an amazing yarn today brought to you by an actual journalist called Eli Chomsky, who used to work for The Jewish Press, someone who sat in on an interview with Hillary Clinton back in 2006, someone whose jaw quietly dropped when she made this statement:

“I do not think we should have pushed for an election in the Palestinian territories. I think that was a big mistake,” said Sen. Clinton. “And if we were going to push for an election, then we should have made sure that we did something to determine who was going to win.”

There it is. In black and white. They can and will rig elections, and it’s no big deal. We’ve got overwhelming evidence of the Clinton campaign conspiring with election regulators and media officials to manipulate voters from WikiLeaks, there’s mounting evidence of outright election fraud in the massive exit polling discrepancies and fishy electronic poll behavior reported by voters, and Miami New Times is now reporting that experts have found evidence that suggests electronic vote-flipping may even have been used to aid Clinton’s attack poodle, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, in her primary election victory over Tim Canova. And now we have Hillary saying she’s totally down with some election-rigging, plain as day from her own face hole.

So that’s a thing. There’s no longer any valid reason to dismiss the idea that Democratic Party elites are trying to rig the elections for Hillary Clinton when we’ve heard straight from the horse’s mouth that they love the idea. We badly need to insist on paper ballots only and intensive exit polling, because we’re dealing with a self-confessed supporter of election-rigging here.

But I’d like to talk for a minute about the raw fact that Hillary is fine with rigging the elections of other political entities as well, because that’s horrific in its own right.

I think Hillary Clinton, but also America in general, needs a good lesson in boundary-setting. It is not okay to go into a sovereign country and tell them what to do, whether by military force or by election-rigging. That is not your area, that is not your right, it has nothing to do with you how they choose to live their lives. People are allowed quiet enjoyment of their own land and its resources; they are not for looting or for manipulating.

I want to bring your attention to something. All our problems today from rape culture, to Black Lives Matter, to gay marriage, to women wearing burqas stem from this one inability to stay in our lane. Let me show how we’ve got this same trouble with boundaries interpersonally as we do internationally. So, just like you’re not allowed to go into another sovereign country and bully them into doing what you want, you’re not allowed to go into people’s homes with your ideas on how they should live and bully them into what you think is best. Gay rights, women’s rights, and minority rights all rest on this premise — if it’s not physically impinging on you personally, then you must let them be. Live and let live, remember?

A black man’s right to drive peacefully to work without being shot by the police rests on his right to the quiet enjoyment of his own life. If he’s not hurting you, you don’t get to hurt him. Know your boundaries, America. Attacking someone because their existence hurts your feelings or their skin color scares you is not a real thing. You must only defend real threats, or else it’s just a plain old attack.

So we’ve got international boundary issues, and inter-social boundary issues, but we’ve also got very personal boundary issues with our own thoughts and beliefs, and it’s these hidden ones that are far more damaging and pervasive.

It is not okay to brainwash people with beliefs that serve you and hurt them. I’m looking at you government/media, you need a big lesson in boundaries. It is not okay to twist their thoughts in on themselves so they defend the billionaires to their own detriment. It is not okay to make them believe they are not deserving or worthy of a decent standard of living just so you can add more meaningless zeroes to your bank statement. It is not okay to create this false idea that the planet’s health is less important than your stock portfolio. None of this is okay. It’s wrong, it’s so wrong, it’s evil. It’s not okay to brainwash people into handing over their will to you by repeating and repeating harmful lies like trickle down economics as if they’re true to keep them handing their tax money over to you while they grow ever poorer.

And people? You are complicit in evil when you repeat these narratives. You know in your soul that a single mom-of-four’s work is no less valuable than a trader on the stockmarket. You know in your soul that a father who ditched his career to care for his disabled son has just as much right to a good standard of living as someone who stayed in his career to climb the ladder. You know in your soul that a veteran who has completed her service is just as worthy of an honorable, dignified existence as the troops we support as they go off to war. The idea that some people can and should die on the streets because they don’t do the right kind of work is socially-acceptable psychopathy. And why is it socially acceptable? Because we repeat it as truth to each other.

Be gentle with each other. Things are about to get really crazy. Remember who you are. It’s going to be okay.
