Matthew Fox Says He Never Hit A Woman, But Admits To Drunk Driving

Contrary to the tweets of Lost co-star Dominic Monaghan, Matthew Fox says that he has never hit a woman, and never will. However, the actor does admit that he’s not flawless, and that reports about drunk driving and a DUI bust are, in fact, true.

Fox spoke to Men’s Fitness to clear the record and salvage his reputation following a couple of damning incidents. Heather Bormann, the Cleveland bus driver who claimed the actor assaulted her in August of 2011 withdrew her lawsuit, and Lost co-star Monaghan famously labelled Fox a “woman beater” on Twitter. Fox was also busted for a DUI this past May, reports E! Online.

In the interview, excerpted by People, Fox admits to driving drunk, but says that he has never hit a woman in his life.

“It’s been a long, trying year of sitting on my hands on a lot of negative s— said about me, when they’re the furthest things from who I am,” Fox said. “In the 46 years I’ve been breathing on this planet, I have never hit a woman before. Never have, never will,” he says. “Out of all the negative s—, the only thing that’s true is that I was arrested for a DUI.”

As for the DUI, Fox admits that his behavior was “stupid” and that he’ll never do it again. Still, he says that people will think what they want about the woman-beating accusations, and he’s not out to stop them.

“I will bet you any amount of money that I will never get behind the wheel of a car after even one drink,” he says. “The rest of it, the Cleveland situation, the Monaghan situation – was a pile of bulls—, and I’m not gonna waste too much breath on that.”

Matthew Fox can be seen next in a disturbing turn as the primary antagonist of Tyler Perry’s Alex Cross, which opens Friday. As for the accusations leveled against him, what do you think? Is Matthew Fox a woman beater?
