‘Criminal Minds’ Spoilers: Does Episode 5 Prepare For Hotch’s Exit?

Criminal Minds spoilers for Season 12 are building up to something big. The promo for Episode 5, “The Anti-Terrorism Squad,” is already out, and it’s getting fans intrigued.

CBS’ Criminal Minds returned yesterday after a two-week hiatus. The network had given the time slot to the presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

Episode 4 was thrilling, and it was widely expected that Hotch’s character would be killed in this episode. However, nothing of that sort happened on yesterday’s episode. It is probably because the episode was written way before Thomas Gibson, who played Hotch, was fired from the show.

The question remains: What will happen next week?

Criminal Minds spoilers indicate that BAU takes on a new case, and the promo for Episode 5 suggested BAU would be investigating a connection between two high school friends after their families are murdered. As strange as it may sound, each student is the sole survivor after both their families are murdered.

The promo shows Garcia looking at some evidence with a surprise, and in her typical fashion, she says, “I’m seeing the tip of a really big iceberg.”

It also suggests that all the clues would lead to more deception.

According to some Criminal Minds spoilers, the murders of the families are related to bullying. The question that arises asks if one of the victims was actually a bully trying to drive the other one to kill their families.

As the promo suggests, “Every Victim is not who you think they are.”

The BAU team will realize that some of the survivors might be the perpetrators, and the team will begin investigating the victims to find the killer. The Criminal Minds Season 12, Episode 5 was written by Stephanie SenGupta and directed by Tawnia McKiernan.

Criminal Minds Episode 5 will air on Wednesday night, November 2 at 8 p.m. Central time on CBS. No more week-long hiatuses.

Neither the promo nor the storyline justifies the title of Episode 5, “The Anti-Terrorism Squad.” By now, all of us are very clear that this episode has nothing to do with terrorism. Will this episode be a build up to something big next week?

Episode 6 is titled “Elliott’s Pond” and is being written by showrunner Erica Messer and is directed by star Matthew Gray Gubler. If the past is any indication, when we see this combination, something big is in store for the fans, but the only thing that matters to Criminal Minds fans at present is Hotch.

Additional Criminal Minds spoilers come by way of a synopsis released by CBS for Episode 6. The next BAU case will be the focus on the disappearance of three bike riding children in a situation similar to one from 30 years ago. Will this somehow lead to a path to end Aaron Hotchner’s storyline?

“When three children disappear while riding their bikes on the same path as a similar unsolved disappearance 30 years ago, the BAU team comes in to investigate.”

Thomas Gibson was fired from Criminal Minds after he allegedly assaulted a writer and producer of the series. Since he was dismissed, there have been several sides to the story, with some co-stars backing Hotch and some criticizing him for his attitude, as reported by Vanity Fair.

On Criminal Minds, Hotch is away on a temporary duty and is available for consultation. For obvious reason, we have not seen any of these consultations. Fans are not buying the temporary duty excuse because, in the real world, everyone is aware of Gibson’s exit from the show.

Criminal Minds fans wanted a proper exit for Hotch so the story could continue smoothly. An official Hotch exit would mean a new team leader, and a section of fans are rooting for Prentiss (Paget Brewster).

Hotch fans have started a campaign called “No Hotch, No Watch.” Will CBS bow to the pressure and bring back Thomas Gibson? We can only hope the Episode 5 of Criminal Minds will build up to something phenomenal for future episodes.
