Brad Pitt Child Abuse Investigation Has Been Extended, But Could He Still Get Back Together With Angelina Jolie?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce appears to be getting ugly with the recent extension of a child abuse investigation against the actor, but is there still hope for a reunion?

Since Jolie filed for divorce on September 19, Brad Pitt has been living by himself and days ago, it was reported that the investigation against him had been extended after the Los Angeles County’s Department of Children and Family Services launched the case last month.

On October 26, In Touch Weekly magazine confirmed that in addition to the DCFS’s investigation into Brad Pitt’s alleged dispute with his son Maddox on their private plane, the 52-year-old actor was also being investigated by the FBI. According to the report, the FBI began its investigation after police in Los Angeles alerted them about the reportedly physical encounter between Brad Pitt and his 15-year-old son.

Currently, the case, which has taken a “significant turn in Angelina Jolie’s favor,” is considered to be in reference to a possible assault.

“DCFS could have closed this case and referred the family to a mental health professional,” said an insider. “The fact that they didn’t, the fact that they are still involved, shows it’s serious.”

Although Brad Pitt’s rep has denied he was ever abusive towards any one of his six children, the case has continued and throughout the ordeal, Pitt has remained cooperative. That said, the actor is quite upset about the ongoing speculation into his parenting and blames his estranged wife for prolonging the case against him.

“[Brad Pitt]’s disgusted with how Angie has handled the entire situation,” the insider explained. “It’s a very sad situation for everyone. He’s disgusted but she’s worried about the safety of their kids around him.”

Brad Pitt married Jolie in August 2014 after dating for about 10 years. The couple, who fell in love on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith when Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston, share six children together, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight.

“There is far more to this than has come out so far. One crucial thing is, this is never going to court,” the insider claimed. “[Brad Pitt] won’t make it to court by the time this investigation closes. This is an independent investigation based on facts. And he is not going to be able to counter those facts in court.”

“There’s a lot to look into about Brad,” added another source close to the situation.

As for his possible reunion with Jolie, Brad Pitt doesn’t seem to be on the verge of any such thing judging by the In Touch Weekly report, however, weeks after the couple split, a source claimed their kids were hoping they would ultimately get back together.

“The kids are devastated and confused about why their parents are suddenly apart,” a source revealed to Hollywood Life. “They are all nagging Angelina to get back together with their dad and have everything be back to normal.”

Weeks later, a second source spoke to Hollywood Life and revealed Jolie may be rethinking her decision to split from Brad Pitt. According to that source, Jolie was reportedly missing her husband as their children continued to ask questions about why their father wasn’t around.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were last spotted in Los Angeles with their children over the summer when they enjoyed several outings, one of which was in celebration of their twins’ birthday.
