WWE Rumors: Seth Rollins To Defeat Kevin Owens At ‘Hell In A Cell’?

We’re just a few days away from Raw’s brand-exclusive Pay-Per-View match, Hell in a Cell, and naturally, the WWE rumors mill is going into overdrive. One of the biggest matches set to take place is the one between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins, and according to what many sites are reporting, it looks like Seth Rollins will leave the ring a winner. But are these rumors true?

Let’s start with what we know from the fighters themselves. According to the latest WWE rumors put out by the Mirror, Owens, who spoke to the Mirror exclusively before the match, fully intends to defeat Seth Rollins this Sunday. He also said not to underestimate the strength of the fighters who have to fight in the “cell” because it’s not an easy task.

“The thing about Hell in a Cell is being in Hell in a Cell is not a positive thing. It is pretty daunting and intimidating because the cell has been responsible for some amazing matches but it has also been responsible for some very real, very serious injuries throughout the years. That’s all stuff that comes to mind when you think of a Hell in a Cell match. So as history making as Sunday will be, you can’t lose track of the fact that it is a dangerous match. As long as I come out on my own two feet with my title and give people a match they will remember, that’s all I want.”

But that’s not the sense that wrestling experts are getting from the upcoming match. According to the latest WWE rumors put out by CBS, it’s going to be Kevin’s “friendship” with Chris Jericho that will cost him the title at Hell in a Cell. Chuck Carroll, a longtime wrestling commentator and respected WWE insider, believes that this match will go in Rollins’ favor so he can continue on with his feud against Triple H, assuming Triple H doesn’t remain “authority” forever.

“Something tells me Kevin Owens will be looking for a new best friend after this one is over. Chris Jericho will somehow get involved in this match. But will he cost Owens his title? I think so. That leaves Rollins free to push forward his feud with Triple H and the two Canadians to battle it out. I pick Seth Rollins to win.”

And it looks like the folks over at Daily DDT agree with the latest WWE rumors that Seth Rollins will defeat Kevin Owens this Sunday. There are a few reasons why they think that Rollins is long overdue for his title. First, when Seth Rollins first lost the title to Dean Ambrose prior to the brand split, he never fully regained the traction, or the title, that he once had, and his time has not only come, it’s long overdue.

Second, Seth Rollins’ run as a babyface has long since run its course. Champions, traditionally, in the WWE world become “heels,” not faces. And as Seth, who is great on the mic, continues his run, he’ll need to turn heel if he expects to win, and he’s shown that he has no problem in doing so.

Finally, there’s the Chris Jericho factor that everyone keeps forgetting. We all assume that Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho will be BFFs, but the reality is, there’s no telling when Jericho will turn on Owens. When that happens, and it will, Rollins will take home the title.
