TVD spoilers are ahead. If you don’t want to know what happens in the next episode, then do not continue reading.

The title of The Vampire Diaries 8×2 is “Today Will Be Different.” As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the synopsis was released prior to the season premiere. Given the tagline “willpower,” an individual from Stefan Salvatore’s (Paul Wesley) past might become a target. It is speculated that the person is Sarah Salvatore (Tristin Mays). After learning the news, Stefan, Caroline (Candice King), and Bonnie (Kat Graham) go on a road trip to North Carolina.

The synopsis for the next episode of The Vampire Diaries also reveals that Bonnie will do something extreme to free Enzo (Michael Malarkey). At the Armory, Alaric (Matt Davis) and Georgie (Allison Scagliotti) find a symbol that could be related to the creature assumed to be Sybil. Fans should also look forward to Caroline getting a surprise from Stefan.

The extended promo clip for The Vampire Diaries Season 8, Episode 2 reveals that the woman believed to be Sybil wakes up Damon Salvatore from a daytime slumber. She announces that it is time to have some fun. By that, it is presumed that she means collect more bodies and kill other people.

In the next scene of the TVD promo, Bonnie and Enzo are talking. She wants to know what Sybil’s goal is. He replies for them to keep bringing home bodies so she can eat. Later, Sybil places her hands on Enzo’s head and seems to enjoy watching his eyes get wide with pain. It was previously teased that people can’t hide anything from the mystery creature, which is now known to be a siren. Will she find out about Bonnie and Enzo meeting? What will his punishment be and will it also make Bonnie Bennett a target?

Finally, The Vampire Diaries extended promo from Spoiler TV has Sybil asking Damon where his subconscious goes when he resists her. It was previously speculated that Damon was bluffing about flipping his humanity switch and he goes to see Elena Gilbert. It was also believed that he somehow blocked Sybil from entering his mind.

Another theory is that Sybil knows about Elena and wants to destroy the memories of her from Damon’s mind. In the last scene of the extended promo, Damon is standing on a dark road looking at Elena. Slowly, Sybil comes up behind him, which cannot be a good sign.

As for the other characters in The Vampire Diaries Season 8, Episode 2, the symbol Alaric finds could mean something significant. In Episode 3, the synopsis from the Futon Critic teases that an artifact is discovered which could help free Damon and Enzo. Also, Enzo continues to fight the creature as Bonnie finds herself having to make a heart-wrenching choice between Damon and Enzo. Another person to return in this episode is Tyler Lockwood, portrayed by Michael Trevino.

On Instagram, the official account for The Vampire Diaries posted a photo. Although the caption had to do with streaming the Season 8 premiere, it may hint Damon Salvatore’s future. He is seen looking quite dark, frowning, and on one side of his face, it is cracked. This could indicate a mental breakdown or that his memories of Elena might be pried open by the siren. Fans are just going to have to wait to find out what exactly this photo means.

What do you think is going to happen in the next episode of TVD? Can Damon and Enzo be saved or will only one of them be rescued, as the synopsis for next week’s episode hints? Does the creature from inside the Armory’s vault know about Elena Gilbert in The Vampire Diaries? Season 8, Episode 2 airs this Friday on The CW network.
