‘Married At First Sight’ Season 4 Finale Spoilers: Couples Who Said ‘Till Death Do Us Part’

Married at First Sight Season 4 finale had its share of drama, tension, and suspense, but at the end of the episode, two newlyweds brought cheer to the camp that believes in the adage “till death do us part.”

It was the big decision day on Tuesday night episode of Married at First Sight for Tom Wilson and Lilian Vilchez and Sonia Granados and Nick Pendergrast, as they had to decide whether to stay married or follow Heather Seidel and Derek Schwartz’s decision and get a divorce. The two couples chose to stay married, believing that they can make their marriages work despite the problems and differences.

Six weeks ago, three couples met at the altar and married as complete strangers in Episode 1 of Married at First Sight. After two weeks of tying the knot, Heather and Derek’s marriage came to an abrupt end. After their divorce, speculations started to swirl about the fate of Tom and Lillian and Sonia and Nick’s marriages as well. With each passing week, the tension heightened, and both couples became increasingly stressed and nervous about the future of their relationships.

Sonia and Nick were having intimacy and communication issues, while Tom and Lillian were not on the same page about having children. In the Season 4 finale of Married at First Sight, both couples were given the task of making vision boards to show what they hoped for their future. According to Us Weekly, while working on their board, Tom said that he does not mind adopting a child someday, while Lillian said that she is okay with adoption as long as their first child comes out of her.

Tom and Lillian also differed on the matter of making money. Tom said that he wants to lead a carefree life and live on a bus, while Lillian was all about making lots of money. Tom was only 80 percent sure about staying married. Lillian, on the other hand, told Tom that she has given him her heart, indicating that she wants to keep wearing the wedding ring.

Sonia and Nick also had different ideas about their future. Like Tom, Sonia also said that she would like to adopt, while Nick, on the other hand, said he would like to have twins, as twins ran in his family. He said that he wished to own a business that he can run from a phone. Sonia talked about raising a family. And a day before the big day on Married at First Sight, Sonia finally moved back in with Nick, but before that, she had confessed that her gut tells her to run.

Setting aside their doubts, fear about the future, and differences, both the couples said yes to staying married when the relationship experts asked them the question, “Do they want to stay married or get a divorce?” Lillian gave the best reason why she wants to continue being married to Tom, even though he was not 100 percent sure about their marriage. Her answer probably sums up why both the couples decided not to divorce in the Season 4 finale of Married at First Sight.

“I care for you so much. I want to look at the positives in our marriage and the good we’ve been through, and I would like for us to give ourselves the opportunity to grow in love. But I have decided that I would like to stay married to you.”
