‘Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life’: Netflix Releases Official Trailer [Watch]

They’re back! Well, almost.

Although we still have a few more weeks until Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life debuts, Netflix has released an official trailer to give fans a sneak-peak of what’s to come in the lives of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore.

It’s been nearly 10 years since the last episode of Gilmore Girls aired on the CW, but it appears as though Lauren Graham (Lorelai) and Alexis Bledel (Rory) are picking up right where they left off with their characters; they are still as fast-talking and quick-witted as ever.

The first official trailer for ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life opens with the mother/daughter duo going over their food choices for the previous night. If you will recall, both women have unreal appetites, and tend to go overboard with their take-out options.

Lorelai and Rory are then seen walking the streets of Stars Hollow with coffee cups in their hands from none other than Luke’s Diner. They discuss taking a town tour, but decide to keep it short. Lorelai informs her daughter that the town is considering removing the phone booth, to which Rory questions where Superman will change.

In the next clip, Rory, Lorelai and Luke are getting ready to eat dinner, and as usual, Luke is trying to make the girls eat healthy; something he has tried, and failed, to do repeatedly over the years.

While most of the trailer is comedic, there are several scenes that will make Gilmore Girls fans shed a tear or two. A giant picture of Richard Gilmore, who was played by the late Edward Herman, is shown in Emily Gilmore’s home, and then the girls are seen crying at their father/grandfather’s funeral. Also, now that Richard is gone, the trailer shows glimpses into how Emily is coping and learning to live on her own after 50 years of marriage. Emily isn’t the only Gilmore girl trying to discover herself. Rory is jobless, and wandering aimlessly through life trying to figure out what she wants, while Lorelai is questioning her life and the path she has taken.

The Netflix trailer has fans even more anxious to find out what’s been going on in the lives of the Gilmore girls, and makes it pretty obvious that A Year in the Life won’t disappoint. Not only are Lorelai, Rory, Emily and Luke back for the revival, we will also get to catch up with Sooki, Michelle, Kirk, Lane, Logan, Dean, and Jess, among other Stars Hollow characters.

The revival will consist of four 90-minute episodes, each taking place in a different season. Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino wrote and directed each episode, which Sherman Palladino call “movie-lets.”

“Each one has a fairly big journey and are pretty distinct from each other,” she explained to TV Line. “‘Fall’ has the biggest events. It’s the culmination of the journey, so there are a lot of moments. And a lot of soul-searching and resolution. ‘Fall’ is very emotional.'”

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life premieres on Friday, Nov. 25 at 12:01 a.m. PT on Netflix. Are you excited to binge watch the Gilmore Girls revival? What did you think about the first official trailer? Leave your comments below.
