‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: What’s Next For The Group After Negan’s Attack?

The Walking Dead Season 7 started off with one of the most intense and heartbreaking episodes of all time. Fans watched as Negan brutally assaulted Rick and his group, and killed two beloved characters while doing so. Now, fans are wondering where the show will go from that bloody season premiere.

According to TV Guide, Negan has officially arrived, and he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. While Walking Dead fans gained a villain in Negan, they’ve lost something so much more in his victims, Glenn and Abraham. The group is completely broken, and Rick has been left in a very dark place. It seems that Rick has overcome every terrible thing that life has thrown at him, but this time will be different and he’ll be changed forever. Rick knows he’s been careless in thinking that his group could tackle anything or anyone, and now they’re down two important members. Rick’s change will be evident throughout Season 7, and fans probably won’t like what they see out of the leader.

However, the rest of the group isn’t as broken as Rick. Although Maggie watched her husband, Glenn, get savagely murdered she’s ready to fight. Before the group could even bury their dead, Maggie revealed she was preparing to fight Negan. Last season, Walking Dead fans watched as Rick gave Maggie some serious leadership training by letting her deal with Deanna at Alexandria and Gregory at the Hilltop community. Rick told Maggie that a day would come when he wouldn’t be able to lead and she’d have to step up, and it looks like the time has come.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the show is seemingly grooming Maggie to fulfill her comic-book fate, which is becoming leader of the Hilltop people.

The report suggests that Sasha will also likely be on board to take on Negan as the villain murdered her man, Abraham, as well. Sasha and Rosita seemed to share an unspoken bond during the end of the Walking Dead premiere, and since Rosita had a long relationship with Abraham, it seems that she may want revenge against Negan as well. Eugene, who was saved by Abe multiple times and essentially became Abe’s best friend, may also step up and fight in his memory. Aaron has become a close friend to Maggie and might want to join her in her new fight against the Saviors.

Meanwhile, Carl has always been about revenge and the fight for survival, and Walking Dead fans may see him shy away from Rick’s views on the situation in hopes of taking out Negan for what he did to the group. In the comic book series, Carl and Negan develop a strange bond, and it would be interesting for fans to see that play out on the TV series as well.

Of course, Daryl Dixon will likely play a huge part in what’s to come during The Walking Dead Season 7. Daryl, who essentially caused Glenn’s death by punching Negan after Abraham’s murder, has been taken by the Saviors. Daryl will have plenty of time to stew about the events of the season premiere, and that could make him a very dangerous man when the time finally comes to face off against Negan.

It will also be interesting to see how the rest of the people back at Alexandria react when they hear about what happened with Negan, Glenn, Abraham, and Daryl. Will they be ready to play ball with the Saviors or fight against Negan’s iron fist?

It looks like Season 7 of The Walking Dead could be the best and most dramatic set of episodes yet, and fans can’t wait to find out what will happen next.
