‘Vanderpump Rules’: Tom Sandoval Says Stassi Schroeder Has Changed For Season 5

Vanderpump Rules will be back with all new episodes next month, but ahead of the Season 5 premiere of the hit Bravo reality show, fans are getting a sneak peek at what to expect when the SUR crew returns to TV. And based on the latest promo poster, it looks like they are definitely breaking the rules.

E! News posted an exclusive pic of the racy Vanderpump Rules Season 5 key artwork, which shows several cast members stripped down to their skivvies. The promo poster features back-and-forth cast member Stassi Schroeder cozied right up next to ex-boyfriend Jax Taylor. Surprisingly, Taylor’s current lady love, Brittany Cartwright, is nowhere in sight. Also missing are longtime Vanderpump Rules couple Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix.

But while they may not be in the Vanderpump Rules promo pic, Tom and Ariana will be very much a part of Season 5 of the Bravo reality show. And in an interview with the Huffington Post, Sandoval said Schroeder will also be back as a full-time cast member instead just occasional cameos. Tom also makes it clear that fans will definitely see a new side of Schroeder.

“You know, I think Stassi is definitely different from who she was,” he said. “I think one of the reasons is that there is no way she could come back to the show and be how she was before. That s**t ain’t gonna fly this time! She’s definitely grown up a little bit and I appreciate that. You are definitely going to see some of that old Stassi in there too though, that’s for sure.”

Sandoval’s hint that Vanderpump fans will see a new side of Stassi comes after the blonde beauty apparently crashed the honeymoon of castmates Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz. Maloney posted a video of the honeymoon crashing on Instagram. In the video, which can be seen below, the onetime Vanderpump Rules queen bee appears to be having a rough time so she heads to Bora Bora to hand out with her newlywed friends. (Note: The video contains explicit language.)

While Schwartz calls their unexpected guest a “hot mess” in the video, another photo shows Stassi in Bora Bora eating potato chips and looking sad. Maloney captioned the pic with: “She was sad so she came to Bora Bora.”

This sad woman clearly is not the sassy Stassi that Vanderpump Rules fans love to hate, so it will be interesting to see what the backstory on that is. Of course, it’s no surprise that Vanderpump Rules head honcho Lisa Vanderpump had something to say about her employees’ unconventional honeymoon. Lisa officiated Schwartz and Maloney’s wedding ceremony, but she told Entertainment Tonight she draws the line at any type of honeymoon crashing.

“That group, I mean, they love each other,” Vanderpump told ET. “A little dysfunctional, but they do love each other. I wouldn’t invite Stassi on my honeymoon. That’s for sure.”

While fans will see more of the Vanderpump Rules mean girl, Sandoval teased that Michael Shay, the husband of cast member Scheana Marie, will not be on the show nearly as much this season. A promo for the fifth season of Vanderpump Rules showed Schroeder screaming at Scheana and telling her she doesn’t care about anyone other than herself.

In addition, SUR boss Lisa Vanderpump had it out with Stassi during the Vanderpump Rules Season 4 reunion, so it will be interesting to see how their relationship plays out this season.
