Janet Jackson Dons Islam-Style Clothes After Announcing Pregnancy

Pop singer Janet Jackson was spotted walking hand-in-hand with her husband, Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana, in London on Thursday. The first-time mom looked healthy and glowing as she and her husband enjoyed a leisurely afternoon walk.

After months of speculation, the pop icon recently confirmed her pregnancy to People and showed her baby bump for the world to see. Observers said Jackson and Al Mana seemed “relaxed and happy” as they chatted and laughed during their stroll. They grabbed lunch at a nearby health food restaurant before shopping at a children’s boutique.

According to reports, the 50-year-old singer covered her growing baby bump with an oversized black hooded sweater, which she wore over a black skirt and sneakers. Her husband, Al Mana donned a comfy athletic outfit: gray zipped-up hoodie, loose fitting pants, and running shoes.

Her laid-back attire was far from her former sexy image. In 2004, she shocked the nation with a racy Super Bowl halftime show performance in which she flashed her right breast by accident. She also posed topless for a 1993 Rolling Stone cover and wore sexy outfits in her shows and music videos. This time around, however, Jackson was covered from head to toe with an Islam-style outfit.

The rare public appearance marks the first time the couple stepped out together since confirming their pregnancy several days ago. During a photo shoot with People, Jackson officially announced her pregnancy saying, “We thank God for our blessing.”

Back in April, Jackson announced that she was canceling her tour to build a family with her Qatari husband. At the time, the singer was advised to take a break from her shows and avid fans took it as a sign that she was pregnant. However, the “All For You” hitmaker remained silent about her real condition until now.

“Janet feels really strong and is just so excited for the baby to come. She feels like this is one of the best things ever to happen to her,” said the source.

Previous reports revealed that Jackson has been experiencing morning sickness, but the mom-to-be is doing great and is super excited to see her baby soon, multiple sources confirmed.

A source also revealed that Jackson “has been on bed rest.” But there’s nothing to worry about, as the expectant mom is “doing OK and resting until she is due.”

Because of her age, Jackson is being extra careful about her and her baby’s health. She is “aware of complications, but as of now doctors say she is OK,” added the source. Jackson has not yet revealed a due date for the baby, but fans believe the singer is due in November.

The five-time Grammy awardee has also started considering possible names for her baby. The source said Jackson’s “support system is extremely strong” and that “she is taking things easy these days and is feeling well but not overdoing it in any capacity of her life.” She apparently gained weight, but the source assured that the pop singer is “staying healthy for her and her baby.”

“She’s been praying for a child for a very long time. She’s already in the process of thinking of baby names,” the source reportedly disclosed to the Daily Mail.

With over 100 million records sold, Jackson is considered one of the most successful female solo artists of all time. Wissam Al Mana, on the other hand, comes from a rich Qatari family who owns retail holdings for such expensive fashion brands as Hermes, Balenciaga, and Emporio Armani, among others. He is the executive director of Al Mana Group and has shares in Saks Fifth Avenue, according to reports. He married pop singer Janet Jackson in 2012.
