‘Dragon Ball Super’ Episode 64: Super Saiyan White, Triple Fusion, And A New SSJ Form

Dragon Ball Super Episode 64 promises to bring the intensity of the ongoing anime to a whole new level, with new transformations and the assurance of yet another round of classic shounen-type fighting. If the preview to the upcoming episode is any indication, it seems like Episode 64 would be the best one yet.

The Future Trunks arc in Dragon Ball Super is arguably the best storyline in the entire anime to date, with a very interesting set of villains and the involvement of the most powerful beings in the entire Dragon Ball universe being actively involved in the progression of the plot. Central to this is Zamasu and Black, the big bads of the Future Trunks arc, and despite fans’ initial reception to the two, they have, in recent weeks, gained the respect of Dragon Ball aficionados.

Episode 64 continues the ongoing rematch between the villainous duo and the heroes, Son Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks. What has so far made the fight very interesting is the fact that Zamasu has an immortal body and thus, he is incapable of dying. Black, on the other hand, is another Zamasu from a different timeline who has possessed the body of Son Goku.

After being beaten to bloody pulps for weeks on end, the heroes finally managed to get the villains on the defensive during the last couple of episodes. In fact, in Episode 63, Son Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks have all but beaten Zamasu and Black, despite their rather unfair advantage. Thus, as could be seen in the preview of Episode 64, the two villains would do something that hasn’t been seen in a Dragon Ball anime for a long time – they will fuse.

From what could be seen in the brief glimpse of the merged form of Zamasu and Black, the new character’s look greatly parallels the form of the long-rumored new Super Saiyan transformation, Super Saiyan White. SSJW has long been a notable topic in DBS forums, with many speculating that it would be the antithesis to the heroes’ Super Saiyan Blue form.

Thus, while the character that is to be unveiled is simply a fused form of Zamasu and Black, it is, in some ways, the debut of Super Saiyan White. The merged form of the villains would undoubtedly be ridiculously strong, and it is almost a certainty that the heroes would find themselves outmatched once more.

Considering that Zamasu and Black Goku would be merging in Episode 64, there would most likely be no way for Son Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks to find a way to counter the strength and power of the fused character individually. This has, quite unsurprisingly, triggered a wave of speculations among fans. Speculations that point to a possible triple fusion among the three.

These speculations have been fuelled further by a number of leaked images that allegedly portrayed a triple fusion between Son Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks. The character that was allegedly a fusion among the three strongest Z fighters seemed legitimate as well, as the fused fighter appeared to show distinct physical features of all three characters.

Unfortunately, further investigation by DBS fans has debunked this theory, ultimately confirming that the character which allegedly was a triple fusion fighter was a character from Dragon Ball Heroes. The character, Vegenks, who is a fusion of Future Trunks and Xeno Vegeta, is one of the most powerful characters in DB Heroes, but sadly, for fans of DBS, the fighter is non-canonical.

With the theory of a triple fusion being thrown out the window, fans of the popular anime are now speculating that another, never-before-seen Super Saiyan form will instead be the heroes’ counterattack against the merged villain. Numerous speculations have emerged about this during the past few weeks as well, with many fans speculating that a new form, most likely another color-based SSJ form, would be unveiled in the upcoming episode.

A new Super Saiyan form actually does make sense, especially since Dragon Ball‘s plot has long followed a specific pattern. When a seemingly unbeatable villain appears, a new Super Saiyan transformation debuts. Thus, it might very well happen for Dragon Ball Super again, and while such a plot development is almost predictable, it is, nonetheless, the classic Dragon Ball development that fans have loved for decades.
