‘The Originals’ Season 4 Premiere Date, Update: Powerful Entity To Be Introduced In Episode 7

The Originals Season 4 will see the entry of a “powerful entity” in Episode 7. The details about this character are still under wraps, along with the premiere date of The Originals Season 4.

The introduction of this character in Season 4 is going to surprise the fans of The Originals, Spoiler TV reveals citing unnamed sources.

“A lot of OMGs will be said when a new powerful entity enters the playing field.”

Is this character going to be the “monster at large” in Season 4? The Originals executive producer, Julie Plec, has said that a lot of the writers of the series are fans of horror writer Stephen King. They like the way the acclaimed writer creates a horror-infused environment without defining a single monster leading the charge. She told Variety that Season 4 of The Originals will be taking inspiration from that.

“We’ve attacked this season from that point of view. How can we create a culture of fear within this New Orleans environment and then slowly over the course of a long run really identify the monster at large.”

When The Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals returns with 13-episode of Season 4, it will be jumping five years ahead. Some big changes are expected for the Mikaelson family, including Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) dealing with a grown-up Hope, to be played by Summer Fontana. Also, after five years, a happy or a not-happy reunion of the separated Mikaelson family is on the cards.

At the San Diego Comic-Con 2016, executive producer, Michael Narducci, said that 7-year-old Hope would have dialogues, dreams and hopes, adding that she will understand that her family has suffered a lot. And speaking of Hope’s mom, Hayley, Narducci told TV Line that she would be seen exploring her werewolf side, as she goes on a difficult journey to find the seven werewolf packs. The Season 3 finale of The Originals saw Hayley and Hope hit the road to find three cures, to cure Marcel’s bite, Rebekah’s hex, Freya’s poison.

In the previous season finale, a revenge-seeking Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) went on a deadly rampage against the Mikaelson family. He put Klaus (Joseph Morgan) on trial and stabbed him with Papa Tunde’s blade. Klaus, on the other hand, made the ultimate sacrifice for his family, and later, Marcel entombed him at an unknown location. Marcel is now the ruler of New Orleans. Narducci, however, has ruled out the possibility of Marcel becoming the main antagonist of The Originals Season 4. Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood), whose backstory is expected to be revealed in the new season, is most likely to keep him in check if he steps out of the line.

And in The Originals Season 4, Josh (Steven Krueger) is getting a new love interest. Teen Wolf alum Keahu Kahuanui has signed on to play Josh’s new boyfriend, Eddie. He will be making an appearance in Episode 2 of the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, Plec has confirmed that there is a “thousand percent” chance that some of The Vampire Diaries characters will show up on The Originals Season 4. The final season of The Vampire Diaries premiered on Friday, Oct. 21, and before the telecast of Episode 1, Plec told Entertainment Tonight that she would like to continue working with some of the wonderful cast members of the series, which means they are most likely to appear in The Originals Season 4.

Plec wants to fuse the environments of Mystic Falls and New Orleans in an organic way, and without making it insipid.

“There are a lot of really wonderful people that I work with that I’d like to continue working with, so it’s certainly not out of the question that we could find ways to integrate them into The Originals.”

The Originals Season 4 is slated to premiere sometime in 2017.
