Demi Lovato Dating John Mayer? Katy Perry’s Ex Had His Arms Around Her

It’s been approximately four months since Demi Lovato broke up with her long-term boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama, which gives her the freedom to date anyone, including John Mayer. The 24-year-old singer was spotted hanging out with the 39-year-old musician in Los Angeles last Saturday.

According to Us Weekly, the two arrived and left the rooftop restaurant separately. However, multiple sources claimed that the “Confident” songstress and “Your Body is a Wonderland” hitmaker got cozy inside the West Hollywood club.

“John had his arm around Demi and was whispering sweet nothings into her ear,” an eyewitness revealed. “She was into it. They weren’t making out or anything, but she was giggling the whole time.”

“The pair chatted it up for over an hour and Mayer gushed that Lovato has one of the greatest voices,” another eyewitness claimed.

The former Disney star was reportedly wearing a black T-shirt and miniskirt paired with a leopard print jacket. The rocker, on the other hand, looked laid back in his Hawaiian printed shirt and faded blue jeans. According to the website, this isn’t the first time the famous musicians have interacted with each other.

The Twittermance of Demi Lovato and John Mayer blossomed back in 2009. According to MTV News, it all started when the songstress said “Hi” to the singing heartthrob. She was just 16 at the time, and the Grammy Award winner showered her with compliments and gave her some advice.

“You’re going to make lots of records, I can tell,” he tweeted. “Write one song at a time, never apologize for any of them, ever. From ‘Wonderland’ to Trio stuff, they’re all my kids.”

“Holy crap. Thank you. You’re so awesome,” Lovato replied to him. “That is quite possibly the best compliment I’ve received in this business… If that’s not inspiration, then I don’t know what is! You’re incredible.”

The “Heart Attack” hitmaker seems to be a huge fan of the “XO” singer. Demi even covered his hit song “Daughters” during her previous shows. Watch the video clip shared by one of the audiences below:

Since Demi is single is now eligible to date John, who is currently loveless as well. The “Gravity” hitmaker had an on-and-off relationship with Katy Perry for three years. Unfortunately, their romance finally ended in July of 2015. The “Roar” singer is now currently dating Orlando Bloom, so the chances of them reconciling is pretty slim.

Before Perry, Mayer had a string of celebrity girlfriends, including Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston, and Jessica Simpson, so it isn’t surprising if his next target is another famous face. Lovato, on the other hand, surprised her fans when she and Valderrama announced their split up because the two have hinted about marriage in their previous interviews. The exes announced their breakup on Instagram, claiming that they will remain best friends.

Demi has been linked to several men after her split with Wilmer, and sources claim that she is now dating UFC superstar Luke Rockhold. According to TMZ, the pop star and the middleweight champ got close while training at the Unbreakable gym in Los Angeles. They even sent secret messages to each other on social media, including a matching smiley face art on their fingers. However, the two haven’t confirmed their relationship.

Mayer, who is known to be a ladies’ man, claimed that he is ready to jump into a more serious relationship. He had a reputation of being unfaithful to his ex-girlfriends, including Perry. Perez Hilton reported that John cheated on Katy with Kelly Monaco of General Hospital back in 2014. She allegedly caught him texting the soap opera star several times about hooking up.

However, it seems that the rocker has grown up and is ready to take his future lover more seriously, reported Us Weekly. During a guest appearance on Watch What Happens Live, John Mayer revealed that he is ready for love and dating Demi Lovato could be the first step into finding that.

“I’m ready to roll. I’m more mature than I’ve ever been,” he told Andy Cohen. “The stage is set, but I’m excited for a meet cute at some point. I’m single and I’m excited about the future.”
