Amid Khloe Kardashian And Tristan Thompson Engagement Rumors, Khloe Finalizes Lamar Odom Divorce At Last

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are nearly free of each other. It’s been almost three years since Kardashian first filed for divorce from Odom, and those three years have been filled with drama.

Khloe even changed her mind more than once as she “went back and forth, trying at times to save their relationship and save Lamar,” checking with big sister Kim Kardashian as she tried to make up her mind. For two years, the couple’s relationship status was a mystery to most fans. Would they or wouldn’t they?

Things really came to a head after Odom overdosed, nearly died, and was in a coma. Khloe dropped the divorce and acted as his caretaker throughout, with Kim and the other Kardashians offering support for her.

Things looked hopeful for a while, as Khloe’s husband cleaned up a bit and convinced Kardashian that he was going straight. But she wasn’t sure that was true and dated other men in between her times of total devotion to Lamar.

Khloe relied on sister Kim Kardashian to help her figure things out and often went to Kim for advice as she tried out being single after four years of marriage.

On a side note, Kim’s always been there for her little sister, just like she is now when Khloe wants a “boob job.” TheNew Zealand Herald reports that Kim gives Khloe the low down on having big breasts on an upcoming episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

“It really is a tougher way to live.”

But back when Lamar was in the hospital, and Khloe was taking care of him, it was some time before the Kardashians knew if he would ever walk again. Eventually, he “made a full recovery” and was soon back partying, “smoking pot, drinking heavily and visiting strip clubs.”

Recently, Khloe’s been hooking up with Cleveland Cavaliers player Tristan Thompson, and pregnancy rumors have been flying around. The Hollywood Gossip writes that Khloe and Tristan are probably not expecting a child, but that the pregnancy rumor is “worth passing along to readers.”

Whether the Kardashian and Tristan pregnancy and engagement story turns out to be true or not, Kardashian is clearly ready to get serious with Thompson, and to put an end to the back-and-forth with her ex.

Last May, Kardashian decided that a legal split was the only answer, and TMZ broke the news that the 36-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star filed a second time.

Now, amid ongoing rumors that Kardashian and Tristan Thompson are engaged, Kardashian and Odom have officially “signed off” on their settlement, making the split-up almost final.

They former couple “have reached a property settlement” and they signed all the necessary legal papers, and each has now signed legal docs that were filed Friday.

“The end is near.”

There’s still a waiting period, though. California law requires couples to wait for six months after filing. That means Tristan and Khloe, if they are engaged, can’t get married for a few more months.

You’d think the fact that Kardashian first filed in 2013 would shorten the waiting period now. It’s obvious she’s had lots of time to think about the situation, and Kardashian followers know she gave Lamar a lot of chances. On top of that, Kardashian and Thompson are in a pretty serious relationship now.

But the law doesn’t care about Khloe and Tristan, and the divorce will only be final in December 2016, six months after the second filing, and three years after the first.

Kardashian’s second filing may have had an effect on the Cleveland player. Us Weekly reported that for several months after he was served with the papers for a second time, Odom seemed to be making a huge effort to clean up. Insiders say that throughout the summer, he “is the best he has been in many months.”

Khloe appears to be happy about her relationship with Tristan and not regretting in any way her decision to finalize her divorce and move on with Thompson.
