‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 Release Date, Updates, Rumors, And Spoilers

Netflix subscribers everywhere rejoiced when it was announced that Stranger Things was given a green light for Season 2. Naturally, fans of Stranger Things can’t seem to get enough of the series and want to know everything there is to know about Season 2.

The questions are never-ending as Netflix subscribers wait in agony for the much anticipated release of Season 2. According to Game N Guide, there have been some spoilers about Season 2 as well as a lot of rumors and speculations swirling since the renewal of the series was confirmed.

At the moment, a concrete release date for Stranger Things Season 2 has yet to be announced by Netflix. Fans of the series, however, can rest easy knowing that a second season is coming. Game N Guide reports the series helped Netflix break a network record, netting $2 billion in quarterly revenue. Chances are pretty good this record-breaking revenue may have played a part in why the series was renewed for a Season 2 so quickly.

It has also been revealed that two new actors will be joining the Stranger Things Season 2 cast. According to Variety, the two new members being added to the Stranger Things cast include actress Sadie Sink and actor Dacre Montgomery.

Sadie Sink will be playing the role of Max. Max is a tomboyish character with a very cautious personality who has the tendency to be suspicious about everything. This is an actress Netflix subscribers are going to recognize as she has also starred in other Netflix Originals including The Americans and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Australian actor Dacre Montgomery, on the other hand, will be playing the role of Billy. Billy is Max’s stepbrother. Billy is being described as the “girl-stealing bad boy.” Naturally, Stranger Things fans can only assume this bad boy is going to create problems for Nancy and Steve.

Netflix announced that there would be a Season 2 of Stranger Things with a very cryptic and mysterious video on YouTube. You can watch the video of the official announcement below.

As you can see, the video announces the new season without giving much of any information away regarding the details of the second season. Technically, the video above does provide viewers with some information. If you watch closely, the video reveals that there will be nine episodes in Season 2 (compared to the eight episodes in Season 1). The video also reveals the titles for all nine episodes.

  • “The Pumpkin Patch”
  • “The Palace”
  • “The Storm”
  • “The Pollywog”
  • “The Secret Cabin”
  • “The Brain”
  • “The Lost Brother”

It appears as if they will be following the same pattern as they did with Season 1. In Season 1, there was only one episode that didn’t have the word “The” at the beginning of the title. This episode was a pretty significant episode to the season titled “Holly Jolly.” Fans of the series can only assume the episode titled “MadMax” will be significant as well.

Another huge question Stranger Things fans have regarding the release of Season 2 is whether or not Millie Bobby Brown will continue to play Eleven. Whether or not this young actress will be returning for a second season has yet to be determined as there have been some issues with working out her contract. Millie Bobby Brown hasn’t exactly done anything to reassure fans as even during interviews she has made it clear that she isn’t really sure whether or not she will be returning to the show. She has, however, reassured fans that the show will be great even without her. The question is, will the show really be the same without her?
