UFO In Charlotte, NC? Video Shows Strange Cluster Of Lights Above Downtown [Video]

Was there a UFO in Charlotte, NC, recently? A video posted on YouTube by a man named C. Hulbert shows what he believes may be a UFO or UFOs hovering in the sky far above a downtown Charlotte hotel.

The video has received nearly a quarter of a million views since it was posted on October 15.

In the video, which Hulbert tagged simply with "UFO/s over La Meridian Hotel in Charlotte NC," several small but bright lights can be seen flickering above the hotel. The lights move around rapidly, but remain in the same general area throughout the duration of the nearly eight-minute-long video.

"I've never seen anything like that," he says in the opening seconds. "Whatever they are, they're moving around like fireflies but they're really high up in the air."

At one point it seems as if the lights move to form a triangular pattern.

"At first I was thinking they were flares, like off a chopper, like a stray flare, but they're moving very strangely," the other man says to Hulbert.

In a comment on his post, Hulbert admits that he has always believed in UFOs but never thought he would personally witness one.

"thanks for the comments folks. always believed in this stuff, just never thought i would have a encounter. it was definitely awesome and a little freaky at the same time. Hopefully ive given you guys something solid to look at and possibly answer questions, even though i had no idea WTF i was looking at. Craziness. I just hope they are friendly......but then again"

It should also be noted the there was significant cloud coverage the night the Charlotte video was filmed, and the date of the video fell between the peaks of two prominent meteor showers.

As Earth Sky reports, the Draconids meteor shower peaked on October 7 and the Orionids meteor shower peaked on October 20. This doesn't necessarily explain the strange lights in the Charlotte sky seen in the video, but meteor showers passing through cloud coverage can create curious visual effects.

The New York Times reported earlier this year that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has repeatedly expressed her willingness and personal interest to opening up classified documents that indicate alien life has visited our planet — should such documents exist.

For instance, the Times cites an April radio interview in which Clinton discusses the possibility that a UFO has visited us on at least one occasion.

"I want to open the files as much as we can," she told the interviewer.

Clinton was then asked if she personally believes UFOs have visited Earth.

"I don't know. I want to see what the information shows," she replied, adding, "There's enough stories out there that I don't think everybody is just sitting in their kitchen making them up."

According to the Times, Clinton claims that should there be any information on UFOs, she will disclose as much of it as possible to the public as long as doing so does not pose a national security risk.

There has also been speculation that President Obama might disclose secrets of UFO visits before he leaves office.

In an MSN article from May, Stephen Bassett, the executive director of Paradigm Research Group (PRG), suggested that there may be a "massive announcement" coming from Obama on the topic.

That remains to be seen.

In the meantime, we have Hulbert's Charlotte UFO video to hold us over.
