Lamar Odom, Khloe Kardashian Not Talking As He Focuses On His Recovery And Family

Lamar Odom is reportedly doing better than ever as he focuses on recovery and moves on from Khloe Kardashian.

About a year ago from last week, the former NBA star suffered a near fatal overdose in a brothel in Nevada. Odom was found unconscious and survived the ordeal despite having multiple strokes and kidney failure.

Lamar Odom has been supported by his wife Khloe Kardashian throughout his recovery. However, the two never got back together.

Odom has reportedly fallen off the wagon multiple times since his overdose as many reports of the 36-year-old emerging in strip clubs, drinking and getting kicked off planes while intoxicated.

On the other hand, videos show that Lamar Odom was also trying to get his life back together. He has been spotted in multiple gyms with his personal trainer trying to get back in basketball shape.

According to US Magazine, Lamar Odom is the best he has been for several months. Odom is spending more time with his children and family, according to the publication.

"He's talking to his kids all the time, and they motivated him to start making changes in his life," US Magazine reports. Odom did not have children with Khloe Kardashian, he has two children Destiny, 18, and Lamar Jr., 13, with ex-girlfriend of Liza Morales.

Some fans of the NBA star have blamed his affiliation with the Kardashian for his downfall, while others have attributed his traumatic childhood to his self-destructive behavior.

In the reality TV show, Khloe and Lamar revealed that Lamar Odom's father is a heroin addict and his mother died when he was 12-years-old. He best friend Jamie Sangouthai, who was also featured on the show, died last year due to a drug-related condition.

According to US Magazine, Lamar Odom is distancing himself from Khloe Kardashian as it is revealed that the former NBA player believes his wife played a role in his self-destructive behavior.

"But he is not talking to soon-to-be ex-wife Khloe Kardashian, 32, who he considers a 'trigger' that causes him to freak out and get into trouble, according to the source. In fact, the insider revealed Odom is trying to 'trying the best he can to distance himself from the Kardashians.' Adds the insider: 'The first anniversary really woke him up, and he realized he almost died.'"

Earlier this year, there were reports that Lamar was concerned that Khloe may be using his drug overdose to boost ratings on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Lamar Odom has since been featured on the series and has made some appearances in Kanye West shows, who is also credits as helping in his recovery. Odom has also been spotted at a few NBA games and has spoken about his desire to play basketball again.

Many reports have detailed Lamar's inconsistent behavior since his near fatal overdose. With recent reports of his recovery, it is unclear how long it will last.

Since splitting from husband Lamar Odom, Khloe has been linked to French Montana, James Harden, The Game and recently Tristan Thompson.

Rumors are circulating that Khloe may be pregnant with Tristan Thompson's child. Khloe and Lamar Odom previously spoke about their desire to have children before the drug overdose. It is unclear whether the rumor is true or if it will affect Lamar's behavior.

Tristan Thompson and Khloe Kardashian are reportedly very happy together. The new couple have been seen on holiday together and Tristan has been introduced to close friends and family.

Lamar Odom has not been linked to any women since his split from Khloe. The former NBA star is focused on his fitness, health and family.
