‘Fixer Upper’ Stars Chip and Joanna Gaines Recently Celebrated 13 Years Of Marriage
Recently, Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines had a huge reason to celebrate. The couple, who are the parents of four children, announced that they have been married for 13 years. Just what is it that has allowed Chip and Joanna Gaines to have such a successful marriage and life? The Fixer Upper stars recently opened up about their marriage and relationship by telling People they are not a match made in heaven that most of their fans assume them to be.
During an interview with People, Chip and Joanna Gaines admitted to just how different their personalities are. They, however, also admit that while they are very different people, the chemistry they share is pure gold.
“Match made in heaven is not the term you would use to describe us. But when we mixed our personalities together, it created a spark.”
The spark between the Fixer Upper stars has taken the couple from being small business owners to being home improvement gurus thanks to their reality television show on HGTV and their slew of successful business ventures. Together, Chip and Joanna Gaines have launched a paint line, rug line, wallpaper line, furniture line, a quarterly magazine, and a new book titled The Magnolia Story.
During an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, Chip and Joanna Gaines opened up about how and why their marriage has been so successful for the past 13 years.
“One of the secrets to our marriage, or the success of our marriage, is just really caring about one another.”
Fans of the HGTV show Fixer Upper have been able to see firsthand just how well the couple gets along. Now, thanks to the release of their book, The Magnolia Story, fans get to take a peek at the detailed love story of Chip and Joanna Gaines.
In the book, Joanna talks about how Chip proposed to her. She said he took her to a jewelry store that was owned by a family friend and allowed her to design her own engagement ring. Twelve years later, the couple is now at a place where they can afford a better diamond for her ring. Joanna, however, has decided she does not want to replace the stone in the ring. She claims the original diamond she picked out for her ring all those years ago when she originally designed it after Chip proposed to her is “perfect just the way it is.”

It is the frugality of this Fixer Upper couple that seems to be one of the biggest secrets to them being so financially successful. Chip revealed that their idea of splurging was going to get a full-priced meal without using coupons to help pay for it.
“That’s our idea of ‘Hey we’re going for it! We’re not even going take the coupon with us tonight!'”
As the Joanna and Chip Gaines are currently the proud parents of four children, the frugality and budgeting they do could come in handy if Joanna ends up getting her wish of having two more children to add to the family.
“You wish” is the response Chip gave in regards to how he felt about having two more children.
Fixer Upper is easily one of the most popular shows on the HGTV network, and Chip and Joanna Gaines are easily one of the most famous couples in Texas. There is no denying this couple has stolen the hearts of their fans and the HGTV network with their commitment to each other and their family.
