After dating for just two months Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson were rumored to be engaged by several online reports. If it were true, it would make for Kardashian's second marriage to an NBA player and her second marriage overall.
Rumors have also been flying around the couple as there is ongoing speculation that Khloe is pregnant with Thompson's child. Other rumors have surfaced about how Khloe's former husband feels about the situation. Add to all of those rumors the possibility of a huge televised wedding involving a Kardashian and an NBA star.
A report by In Touch earlier on Friday announced an engagement of the reality television star and her basketball beau. The wedding date is not finalized, but will be scheduled for sometime early next year. The magazine also indicates that the couple is in the midst of planning out a reality TV wedding.
"Khloé and Tristan plan on spending at least $1 million on their big day, and are inviting 400 guests," the insider said. "They want the wedding to be in California and are already looking at private estates in Malibu and Santa Barbara."
There's also an interesting quote from Khloe's mother, Kris Jenner, who appears to be ready for yet another reality TV marriage to take place.
"Kris is hoping it'll bring in even more viewers than Kim [Kardashian]'s wedding to Kris Humphries."
Kris is referring to Kim Kardashian's former husband, current basketball star Kris Humphries. For the sake of Khloe and Tristan, they are probably hoping that history doesn't repeat itself there. Kim and Kris were married for a whopping 72 days after they went through with a fully-filmed wedding ceremony and all its glitz and glamor.
Khloe has also had a history of dating basketball stars as most of her loyal followers know. She dated and married former Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom, but things went downhill with their situation. The two even starred together in their own popular reality TV series called Khloe and Lamar.
Khloe married Odom back in September of 2009. The couple remained married for almost four years, but Khloe filed for a divorce and to reclaim her last name in 2013. Just two years later, Lamar Odom was hospitalized for his ongoing issues related to drugs and alcohol abuse and ended up in a coma for four days. That medical situation halted the divorce proceedings a bit, as Khloe withdrew the petition to help make medical decisions on Lamar's behalf.
From there, Khloe moved on to Houston Rockets guard James Harden for a while. She's also dated hip-hop artist French Montana. For the past two months, she'd been romantically linked to big man Tristan Thompson of the Cavaliers, and now they're engaged.
Thompson was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and was the fourth overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. He's currently 25-years-old while Kardashian is seven years his senior. He's now been starring in the professional basketball league with the Cavs since the 2011-12 NBA season. Last year, the team captured the NBA Championship giving Thompson and other members of the team not named LeBron James their first championship rings.
Earlier this week, another rumor surfaced via Hollywood Gossip that Khloe Kardashian is pregnant with Tristan's child. This has yet to be proven as true or false, as there have been no reports straight from Khloe or Thompson on the matter. However, the same website is also saying an insider has noted that Khloe's former husband Lamar is devastated over her seeing other basketball players. Unfortunately for him, it seems like Khloe has certainly moved on.
An inside source apparently spilled the beans that Odom is still pining away for his former wife.
"[Lamar] still very much loves Khloe. He would be back with her in a heartbeat if she'd chill out and stop trying to control every aspect of his life."
One has to think that Khloe is much happier without having to worry about all the potential drama surrounding her former husband. With Tristan Thompson, it will also align the Kardashian crew with the Cavs organization, getting them more publicity overall. Keep in mind LeBron James is there, so it gets the reality TV stars even closer to the "King" and his throne.
There had been rumors tied to Thompson a week ago that he might be the baby daddy of his pregnant ex-girlfriend's child. Thompson used to date model Jordan Craig, who still hadn't announced who the father is, according to an Inquisitr report. That could end up making things even more interesting for the future husband and wife as it would make Khloe a stepmom too.
As of this report, there's been no official wedding date announced so stay tuned for reports on when that might happen, as well as the televised event. One also has to wonder if a Khloe and Tristan show will be in the works very soon for the E! channel? Reality TV and sports fans what do you think of the Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson engagement news? Will this marriage last longer than Kim and Kris Humphries? Will it last longer than Khloe's previous marriage?
Update: It is being reported as of Friday, October 21 that Khloe and Tristan Thompson are not engaged, per ESPN's Dave McMenamin.
