Kylie Jenner’s net worth is on the rise. Now, details about what the 19-year-old beauty mogul did to create her beauty and cosmetics empire are coming out.
Back in August, Jenner purchased a $4.5 million mansion in Hidden Hills, California. The 5,000-square foot, four-bedroom house is actually next door to the other 7,000-square foot, six-bedroom house she purchased for $6 million back in May, where she actually sleeps. Jenner bought this new home as a workspace for Kylie Cosmetics, the one brand that turned her into an overnight sensation, according to a new report via Vanity Fair. The starlet piggy banked off the success of her signature pout to create the line’s flagship product, Kylie’s Lip Kits.
Since then, Kylie has been releasing new Lip Kits in several bold colors. She’s also been dabbling in other areas of the cosmetics industry with her Kyliner and Kyshadows. She first debuted the Kyliner on her 19th birthday back in August. While Kylie Cosmetics has had its share of bad press – from late shipments to website hackings. It’s still one of the most successful beauty brands from a social media and reality star today. According to the stats from Money Nation, Kylie has made $8.7 million from her Lip Kits alone.
Some people have slammed Kylie’s business model since young teenage girls are aspiring to look like the over-sexualized teen.
“I’m a mom, so I may be seeing it through that lens,” Celia San Miguel, founder of Sicka Than Average, is not a fan of Kylie Cosmetics. “The makeup glorifies her full lips, putting them front and center. The marketing doesn’t revolve around the products themselves – their texture, longevity, colors, pigment pay-off, etc. – but it revolves on Kylie as a beauty and style icon.”
Kylie is no stranger to posting controversial and racy images on social media, as was the case when she posted this photo of herself wearing a corset and sheer skirt on Snapchat, as reported via People. Kylie has posted various photos of herself wearing corsets and waist trainers on social media before. The other day, she was spotted leaving a business meeting while wearing a green waisted corset over an oversized white T-shirt with green thigh-high boots. This time around, Kylie was posting the picture to only show off her new glossy lids and her Lip Kit iPhone case, which her fans will want to get their hands on.
It’s possible that these new photos are a behind-the-scenes look of the next cosmetics product that she’s rolling out. She’s probably using these suggestive photos to promote her sparkly and shiny eyelids.
Jenner came out with her Lip Kits last year, and they have been selling out since. Kylie Cosmetics has also rolled out bronzers, highlighters, eyeshadows, and glosses along with a limited-edition birthday collection makeup bag. Unfortunately, these products have since sold out, making it hard for fans to get their hands on them.
Kylie Jenner’s net worth is only getting higher thanks to the success of her Lip Kits and Cosmetics line. She is reportedly worth $10 million and that’s expected to get bigger, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
“If I could do whatever I wanted, I would have a successful makeup line, and I would want to hopefully start more businesses, and just be, like, a businesswoman,” Kylie previously told Interview magazine. In that infamous magazine, she posed like a doll and expressed her disinterest in pursuing higher education. Kylie’s also making millions from Keeping Up With the Kardashians, social media, appearances, and endorsement deals.
She’s also made money from her collaborations with Kendall Jenner. The two sisters have their own clothing line and have collaborated with PacSun, Topshop, and Steve Madden. They also have their own mobile game and series of books.
