Miley Cyrus Talks LGBT And Pansexual Views Amid Liam Hemsworth Wedding Bombshell

Miley Cyrus is making it clear that her Disney Channel days are over. Talking candidly about her sexuality and gender identity quest, Cyrus clarified her views on the LGBT community and also explained why she feels there’s another letter needed, a P that stands for pansexual.

Miley explained how her views on her sexuality have evolved, noted Nylon.

“My whole life, I didn’t understand my own gender and my own sexuality.”

Cyrus clarified that going to the LGBT community center in Los Angeles played a key role in her gender identity journey.

“I went to the LGBTQ center here in L.A., and I started hearing these stories,” she recalled. “I saw one human in particular who didn’t identify as male or female.”

That individual was “both,” explained Miley, explaining that she “related” to that individual, who was “the first gender-neutral person” she had met. That led to a recognition.

“Once I understood my gender more, which was unassigned, then I understood my sexuality more,” added Cyrus. “I was like, ‘Oh — that’s why I don’t feel straight and I don’t feel gay. It’s because I’m not.'”

As for the term pansexual, Miley clarified that she disliked the word bisexual, according to People.

“I always hated the word ‘bisexual,’ because that’s even putting me in a box,” shared the singer, who is now dating Liam Hemsworth. “My first relationship in my life was with a chick.”

After coming out as pansexual this year, Cyrus emphasized that she is “very open about it.” And she feels that the “LGBTQ alphabet” would benefit from the addition of P for pansexual.

How to define pansexuality?

“While being bisexual means being attracted to more than one gender, being pansexual means being attracted to all gender identities, or attracted to people regardless of gender,” according to GLAAD.

As for the current status of her relationship with Liam, Miley has called off the wedding, according to Life & Style’s insider.

“He can’t keep up with her,” revealed the insider.

“She’s been finding life with [Liam] to be a snoozefest.”

The 26-year-old actor and Cyrus have very different personalities, which is reportedly part of the problem.

But they also recently fought over Miley’s alleged pot smoking, and the battle left the 23-year-old singer in tears, a friend of the couple’s told Life & Style. Hemsworth allegedly criticized Cyrus for “smoking too much pot,” leading to the “really bad fight,” according to the insider.

“She was screaming at him, telling him he was holding her back and making her hide who she truly is,” revealed the pal. “They are still both so upset and angry.”

However, Hollywood Life has a very different version of the relationship between Miley and Liam.

Although she isn’t dashing down the wedding aisle or stressing about just how quickly she can tie the knot, Cyrus is enjoying her romance with Hemsworth, a source told Hollywood Life.

“Miley is not rushing marriage because she loves what she and Liam have right now.”

Cyrus is “very comfortable” with Hemsworth, added the insider. And although the couple reportedly did have some “issues,” they have resolved them.

“She is very comfortable with him. They had their issues and now have squared them all away. They have a really healthy relationship,” emphasized the source.

Rumors that the engagement had been called off began when Miley was seen strolling around Los Angeles late last month minus her engagement ring. In addition, she has been evasive when questioned about whether she is engaged, referring to her ring at one point as a “friendship ring.”

However, Cyrus and Hemsworth let their closeness do the talking for them when Miley brought him to Variety’s Power of Women luncheon, pointed out Hollywood Life.

The two made an entrance as a couple and remained close throughout the event. It also served as a milestone, because the luncheon was the first public event that the two had attended as a couple in three years.

Whether the wedding is on or off still remains an unknown following the bombshell report above that it’s been called off.
