Historic Napoleonic Fort Doubles As Porn Film Set
English history buffs are up in arms over an 18th century Napoleonic fort that was used as the set for a dirty, dirty porn film.
Mere weeks after a £50,000 Lottery grant helped pay for the re-opening of Fort Amherst in Chatham, Kent, Britain’s best surviving Napoleonic fortress, the historic site was used as a set for a Playboy TV movie, reports MSN. The movie was titled Tight Rider (a twist of 80s hit series Knight Rider) and starred ‘Michael Tight’ and Slovakian porn star Natali D’Angelo. During the film, Mr. ‘Tight’ is tied up by thugs and forced to have sex with the blonde star, who has been in more than 100 porn films.
According to the Telegraph, filmmakers paid more than £1,000 to rent out the fort, and the film was shown this week on the pay-per-view Adult Channel, where it was viewed by several thousand people.
Trustees of the fort are simply buggered.
Trustee Matthew Hill said this week that “I think it absolutely appalling,” that the fort was used to shoot a porn film, and that “there must be better ways of raising funds through filming rights.” He also reasoned that there are other perfectly good places to film a porno that don’t bear historical significance. “I think if you want to film a porn film do it in a warehouse or wherever they do it.”
One fort volunteer who did not want to be named said that “it certainly made me feel a bit seedy when I went back to work.”
So how did the historic fort end up as a set for a porn film? Officials say that the contract was handled by a third party location company and was a private hiring. They also made it clear that the filming was done on a closed set, pointlessly clarifying that there were no tourists or field trips running during the filming.
Fort Amherst is regarded as “the most complete Napoleonic fortification in Britain,” and is used by both paranormal investigators and historical re-enactment societies. It was also used in a slightly more high-brow film in 1986, The Mission, starring Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons.
