Jamie Dornan is bearing it all in front of the cameras one more time, but it has nothing to do with Fifty Shades Darker.
The Fifty Shades of Grey star stripped down for his part in Season 3 of The Fall and footage of his nude scene just leaked online.
Does this mean Dornan will go one step further when Fifty Shades Darker hits theaters in a few months?
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Dornan’s latest erotic foray includes a completely nude shower scene on the show in which he portrays serial killer Paul Spector.
In the preview for the upcoming season, Detective Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson) is heard discussing Paul’s twisted sexual desires, saying, “Beyond sadism and the overwhelming fetishism with female underwear, he was a voyeur, a transvestite, into auto-eroticism and necrophilia. There are also signs of pygmalionism, his obsession with mannequins and dolls. I’ve sometimes wondered if he breathed air into his dying victims to prolong their lives, so that they could see clearly that he was going to kill them.”
Paul’s sexual desires are clearly more extreme than anything Christian Grey could imagine.
Movie News Guide reports that Season 3 of The Fall will be Dornan’s final run on the show.
Interestingly, Dornan has another shower scene in Fifty Shades Darker, though it isn’t clear if he will shed everything for that scene with Dakota Johnson.
Either way, Dornan definitely knows how to bring plenty of sensuality to the screen, which is one reason why producers cast him for Christian Grey in the first place.
Will Dornan bring that same level of sensuality and willingness to go nude in Fifty Shades Darker?
Dornan is making a push to promote himself as a serious actor, yet his part on The Fall proves that he is willing to expose himself for a larger salary and more fame.
Nobody knows if the same holds true with Fifty Shades Darker, though the actor may have agreed to go full frontal if the price was right.
The only question is whether or not producers offered Dornan the right amount of money to show it all in the coming film.
At the same time, Dornan might have rejected going full frontal because he doesn’t want his career overshadowed by Christian Grey.
The actor has been trying to distinguish himself from the role that launched him into the spotlight, and if he wants others actors in Hollywood to respect him, then keeping his clothes on in Fifty Shades Darker might do the trick.
In fact, Morning News USA is reporting that Dornan backed out of the deal to go full frontal, but his reasons had more to do with his family than his career.
Apparently, Jamie Dornan’s wife, Amelia Warner, did not like the idea of Dornan going fully nude in a scene with Johnson.
Not only did Warner feel insecure about her husband bearing it all for the cameras, but she did not want to deal with more rumors about a growing romance between the Fifty Shades Darker stars.
Despite Dornan’s unwillingness to go full frontal, his co-star tried her best to convince him.
After all, Johnson showed it all in the first film, Fifty Shades of Grey, and getting Dornan to agree to the same in Fifty Shades Darker would have boosted her salary.
Although fans might not see Dornan go full frontal in Fifty Shades Darker, they will get to experience the movie in virtual reality, at least in part.
Director James Foley recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly and revealed that the coming sequel will include virtual reality as part of the marketing.
“Yeah, there’s marketing materials for behind-the-scenes [of Fifty Shades Darker], where after we finished shooting for the day, the actors would stay over and the VR people would re-create a facsimile of the scene,” Foley revealed.
“My own personal instinct is that cinema is going to move to VR because it’s an extension of the visual language,” he continued. “For myself, watching the material they generated expanded my brain.”
Foley went on to describe the VR element as including a good amount of “action,” which fans of E.L. James’ novels need little explaining on what that means.
Fifty Shades Darker, which will open in theaters on Feb. 10, stars Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson, Kim Basinger, Bella Heathcoate, Eric Johnson, and Hugh Dancy.
Meanwhile, Parent Herald reports that the new season of The Fall will follow Paul as he recovers from the gunshot wound he received during the Season 2 finale.
Although Paul is now in custody, he isn’t going to make things easy for Anderson’s Detective Gibson. In fact, not only does she start to obsess about the Belfast Strangler, but Paul claims that he doesn’t remember anything that happened to him the past few years.
The new season of The Fall will be released on Oct. 29 on Netflix, check out the shower scene below
