Miley Cyrus To Return To ‘The Voice’ In Season 13 Amid Adam Levine Feud That Left Her ‘In Tears’

The Voice has become known for the banter among the coaches, with seasoned coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton holding onto their oversized chairs as new judges come and go. This season of The Voice even featured two female coaches for the first time by inviting Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys. But rumors swirled that Miley and Adam were feuding, pushing her to the point of tears. Now, despite those reports, The Voice has announced that Cyrus will be back in season 13.

In its ongoing attempts to experiment with the coaching chemistry, The Voice chose to have the “Wrecking Ball” singer, who earned credit for attracting younger viewers this year, skip cycle 12 and then return for the 13th round of the show next fall, reported Deadline.

Once again, Adam and his country crooner buddy will keep their Voice coach chairs, with Alicia staying as well. Although Miley will miss the action temporarily, Gwen Stefani will warm her chair while Cyrus is gone.

“We can’t wait to experience the unique chemistry and energy Gwen, Alicia, Blake and Adam will bring to season 12,” declared Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment. “With Miley returning for season 13, we’re truly ecstatic about the unmatched musical know-how and talent coming together in our coming seasons.”

While viewers watch the battle among the coaches on television, what’s happening when the cameras are turned off just might have even more intrigue. OK reports that the drama has exploded as Miley tries to cope with Levine.

An on-set source told OK that Adam is the reason Cyrus has been “in tears” during filming. Levine allegedly “constantly” picks on the younger singer.

The fight between Miley and Adam isn’t new, with the two “at each others’ throats” since the first day of working together, added the insider, who also shared the reason for the battle between the two.

“[Levine] wants nothing to do with [Cyrus].”

Moreover, the source revealed that the relationship between Adam and Miley keeps getting rockier, sharing that they “were non-stop bickering during their last taping together,” and Levine allegedly “nitpicks almost every single thing she says.”

Us Weekly pointed out that Levine has even mocked Cyrus on The Voice. The 23-year-old singer admitted that she has a problem with confrontations, which caused her to struggle to make a decision between contestants.

“I’m not very good at confrontation,” she whimpered. “I just want everyone to live in a happy clown land — clearly!”

Flaunting her semi-clown-like garment, she tried to avoid choosing a winner. That led to Adam’s teasing.

“You’re saying everything and nothing at the same time!” Levine informed her.

So does Miley’s alleged feud with Adam have anything to do with her absence from the upcoming Voice tour of duty, or is there something else behind the pop music princess sitting out for a season?

Hollywood Life cites a source who shared that it’s a matter of how the “Wrecking Ball” singer chooses to use her time, noting that she has multiple talents to keep her occupied in addition to being a coach on the reality TV competition.

“While she is enjoying her time on the show, she never set out to be a reality star and she has lots of creative projects she wants to put her energy into,” clarified the insider.

In addition to singing, the former Disney Channel sweetheart is known for her acting, recently working with Woody Allen. Could fans look forward to future projects from the duo?

“She loved working with Woody Allen and may consider more acting but on the big screen,” shared the source. “She also would like more time to work on her music and charity.”
