One Direction Baby: Did Liam Payne Confirm Cheryl’s Pregnancy?
Liam Payne and girlfriend Cheryl have been rumored to be expecting their first child for weeks now, but did Liam just officially confirm Cheryl is pregnant?
One Direction fans were sent into disarray on social media on October 17 after the hashtag #CongratsLiam began to trend on Twitter, leading Payne’s dedicated followers to believe that Cheryl’s pregnancy may have officially been confirmed after weeks of speculation surrounding the two musicians.
Liam’s fans were quick to flock to Twitter to congratulate Liam using the hashtag #CongratsLiam, though it turns out that some One Direction fans weren’t actually sure what they were congratulating Payne on.
Some social media users began to send praise to Liam believing that Payne had officially confirmed that Cheryl was pregnant and revealed to the world that he’s about to become a dad for the first time.
“That moment when you come on twitter, then you read #CongratsLiam and think Liam confirmed he’s gonna be a dad,” One Direction fan @ProudLiLoGirl tweeted, while @killzaynmalik wrote, “I’m so happy for the mom & dad to be. #CongratsLiam.”
“Wait, what’s going on?” Twitter user @mbinfinityx then asked. “The rumours about pregnant Cheryl or Liam’s first single? #congratsliam.”
But while some fans assumed that Payne’s fans were congratulating him on the official confirmation that Cheryl is pregnant and expecting the couple’s first child, others were quick to note that the congratulations being sent the singer’s way was actually in recognition of Payne signing a solo record deal with Republic Records.
“Y’all scared me I thought Cheryl was pregnant and Liam confirmed but it’s just his single #congratsliam,” @meganxinfinity tweeted amid speculation that Liam Payne had confirmed Cheryl is pregnant, and @nineta18 wrote, “Even if I knew what had happened, for a second I thought that #congratsliam was about Liam & Cheryl having a baby. I can’t be the only, can I?”
While the pregnancy rumors continue to swirl around Payne and Cheryl, Liam actually took to Twitter after a more than two week hiatus to confirm his upcoming solo music.
“Amazing to have signed to @RepublicRecords,” Payne wrote on the 140-character site, ignoring rampant rumors claiming that Cheryl is pregnant. “I am celebrating as I tweet thank you so much for accepting me to your roster of amazing artists.”
Payne and Cheryl have both continued to ignore circulating rumors claiming that Cheryl is pregnant for the past few weeks, despite numerous sources claiming that Cheryl appeared to confirm the pregnancy news by showing off a “fuller figure” during her first appearance in weeks in Paris, France.
As reported by OK! Magazine, Cheryl recently turned off comments on a number of her Instagram posts following an appearance at L’Oreal Paris’s Gold Obsession Party in Paris, France on October 2 after fans continually claimed that she appeared to be sporting a baby bump at the Paris Fashion Week event.
The Sun then continued to add even more fuel to the Liam and Cheryl baby rumors, posting a shot of Cheryl standing sideways on to photographers during her appearance at the Paris event earlier this month, which the newspaper claimed appeared to serve as confirmation that Cheryl is, in fact, pregnant with Payne’s baby.
In the weeks that followed, fans continued to speculate that Cheryl is pregnant with Liam’s baby which then hit fever pitch once again after Cheryl’s former Girls Aloud bandmate and friend Kimberley Walsh revealed that she believes Cheryl will make a “great mom” during a recent interview with Britain’s The Sunday People.
“She’s really happy right now,” Walsh said when asked about Cheryl amid the pregnancy rumors surrounding her and Payne, who she began dating earlier this year. “She’ll be a brilliant mom.”
