Khloe Kardashian Struggles With One-Year Anniversary Of Lamar Odom’s Overdose, But Doesn’t Lean On Boyfriend Tristan Thompson For Support?

Khloe Kardashian endured a rough week last week due to the one-year anniversary of her ex-husband Lamar Odom’s drug overdose in Pahrump, Nevada.

Although Kardashian wasn’t present when Odom was found unconscious, she boarded a private jet immediately after discovering the unfortunate news and didn’t leave Odom’s side for days until he was transferred to a Los Angeles hospital.

The days that followed Odom’s overdose were extremely hard for Khloe Kardashian as the former professional basketball player was not expected to survive. So, when October 13 rolled around, she was understandably upset, even though she has since cut ties with Odom.

“This is a really hard day for Khloe [Kardashian],” an insider revealed to Hollywood Life on October 16. “She still loves Lamar [Odom] with all her heart, but instead of seeing him as this heroic, larger than life athlete, she sees him as wounded and broken. She is devastated that he continues to self destruct the way he does. She has even been to a few Al Anon meetings to learn how to ‘detach with love.'”

Khloe Kardashian married Lamar Odom in September 2009 and in December 2013, she filed for divorce. However, at the time of Odom’s overdose, Kardashian was still married to the troubled athlete, and to remain in charge of his medical care, she requested her divorce petition be thrown out.

As Odom’s medical care continued, Khloe Kardashian remained by his side, and through the holidays of last year, she was one of his many regular visitors. Then, upon his release from the hospital in January, Khloe Kardashian rented a home for Odom in Calabasas, California and shortly after that, she and the athlete prompted rumors of a possible reunion with talks of a second wedding on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Although things between Khloe Kardashian and her former husband appeared to be taking a romantic turn earlier this year, Khloe Kardashian ultimately cut ties with Odom after rumors began swirling regarding his potential drug relapse and months later, she began dating Tristan Thompson. That said, she didn’t lean on Thompson, who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, for support as she was faced with Odom’s drug overdose anniversary.

“[Khloe Kardashian] tries not to lean too hard on Tristan because it would be insensitive,” a second source revealed to Hollywood Life. “So she’s really calling on her mom and sisters for support right now.”

As for Khloe Kardashian’s relationship with Thompson, a report last week suggested the couple was getting serious about one another after about two months of dating.

“[Khloe Kardashian] and Tristan are doing really well. They are exclusive,” a source shared with E! News. “There is a lot of chemistry between the two of them and they are happy together… She’s even gotten close with a few of his friends and they all hang out sometimes.”

Khloe Kardashian has reportedly even shipped some of her stuff to Ohio because she’s planning to fly back and forth from Los Angeles once the Cavalier’s new season begins.

A short time ago, Khloe Kardashian’s mom, Kris Jenner, spoke out about the couple’s new romance.

“They are really cute,” Jenner explained. “You know, she’s having a good time. He seems like a really nice guy. I think just with any relationship, just in life, I think it’s about chemistry and about values.”
