David Fincher Puts Together A Two Minute ‘Halo 4’ Trailer For Microsoft

David Fincher, who describes himself as a Halo fanatic, is putting together a two-minute trailer for the upcoming release of Halo 4, Cinema Blend reports. The acclaimed director is helping the folks at Microsoft spread the word about the upcoming release of their potential blockbuster by producing an extended preview. Fans of the filmmaker, as well as hardcore Halo aficionados, should tune into Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on October 18 to check it out.

According to The Daily Beast, Halo 4 is set to be the biggest entertainment release of year, regardless of the medium. In addition to getting David Fincher to produce a two-minute teaser for the upcoming sequel, companies such as Doritos, Mountain Dew, and American Express will release Halo-themed products. If you haven’t already heard of Halo 4, chances are you will by the time the title hits retail shelves.

In a significantly more interesting move, Microsoft will reward potential players with “warrior armor” to use in the game if they watch three of the four presidential debates through their XBox console. Patriotism has its perks, even in the world of Halo.

Not surprisingly, Microsoft is expecting big things from the release of Halo 4. Over the course of six games, the company has made an estimated $3 billion on a whopping 43 million copies sold. That’s an impressive number, regardless of what medium you’re dabbling in. With the promotional push that the company has planned for the latest installment in the series, Halo 4 could top the $300 million its predecessor made during its first week at retail.

Tim Miller, the visual effects designer for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, will direct the Fincher-produced clip. “Halo is one of the most iconic sci-fi universes, with a depth that allows for amazingly cinematic and emotionally riveting stories,” Miller explained to NBC News. “The chance to tell a story that explores never-before-seen facets of Master Chief’s journey is an honor. Our goal is to deliver a blockbuster, Hollywood-quality trailer that raises the bar for the award-winning legacy of live-action ‘Halo’ storytelling and gets fans stoked for the return of Master Chief.”

You can catch David Fincher’s Halo 4 trailer on the October 18 episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on October 18. The game, meanwhile, arrives in stores on November 6.
