Of Course, In 2016, ‘Baywatch’s’ Pam Anderson And WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange Are Friends

Pamela Anderson, best known for Baywatch, and Julian Assange of Wikileaks fame first met back in 2014 when she sought him out for advice about her animal charity. So it’s not a big surprise that while in London, Anderson decided to pop into the Ecuadorian Embassy to see Assange, bringing with her a vegan lunch from Pret-a-Manger.

With the election in high swing in the United States, it’s hard to imagine the king of Wikileaks having a vegan picnic with a “Baywatch babe,” but it really happened. Though much of the Wikileaks information in the election has been about the Clinton campaign, the Trump campaign has its own issues, says the Inquisitr. Trump’s battle to choose a running mate was difficult, as it has been said that many of his choices wanted nothing to do with the three ring circus that the Trump campaign and this presidential election has become.

It seems that Pam Anderson and Julian Assange were introduced by designer Vivienne Westwood back in 2014, and Anderson clutched a copy of Westwood’s book, Get A Life: The Diaries of Vivienne Westwood with her as she entered the embassy to have lunch with Assange, says the Daily Mail. Westwood says she was supposed to accompany Anderson to the embassy, but there was a mix up with the dates.

“I was supposed to take Pamela Anderson to see Julian in the embassy but she got the date wrong, so she went on her own the day after me. She told me afterwards that they got on very well. Julian was just brilliant… Pamela’s trying to help people with her new trust and he gave her some ideas on how to do that.”

Though the two seem to come from different worlds, they seem to have struck up a friendship, which is why Assange felt comfortable saying that he didn’t care for his vegan lunch, says CBS.

“He said I tortured him with bringing him vegan food.”

Assange is trying to avoid returning to Sweden, and sought refuge at the Ecuadorean Embassy four years ago. Sweden continues to seek the extradition of Assange on rape charges. Assange has said that he fears that if he leaves the embassy, he will be taken to the United States to face espionage charges. It is unclear what the U.S. government thinks of Anderson keeping company with Assange, but it is also not known if Pam Anderson is an American citizen, as she was born in Canada.

Though Pam Anderson says that Julian Assange is doing “really well” within the Ecuadorean embassy, she says that she is concerned for his health, per the Telegraph. Assange, an Australian citizen, was granted asylum by Ecuador, hence his stay in their embassy. Sweden wants to question him about the rape allegations, but he fears that Sweden will then hand him over to the United States. Anderson says they she supports Assange.

“I really believe in him and think he’s a good person, and I’m concerned about his health, his family, and I just hope that by some miracle he’s set free.”

Anderson said that Assange looked pale, which is to be expected after four years without sun. Anderson says that she left him with some vegan snacks, also from Pret-a-Manger.
