Nicki Minaj Takes No Prisoners, Puts Kanye West On The Spot Over Double Standards

Nicki Minaj is one of the boldest women in hip-hop, and does not mind slugging it out with fellow celebrities on issues that need ironing out. Her famous feud with Miley Cyrus that played out at the 2015 VMA awards serves as one of the references to this. That said, Nicki Minaj has just openly rebuked Kanye West for double standards, especially when it comes to the appreciation of African-American women.

Speaking to Marie Claire, she highlighted the irony of the lyrics in "Gold Digger," Kanye West's 2005 hit song which stated that when black guys become successful, they will most likely leave their black partners for a white girl. The line from the song read, "And when he get on he leave your a** for a white girl." According to Nicki Minaj, this reality was something that many African-American women have had to live with, saying that Kanye West was the perfect example as he married a white woman – Kim Kardashian after he became successful.

Still on the topic of double standards, she spoke about the time Sharon Osbourne trashed her Anaconda pictures in which she donned a pink G-string, likening them to a "cheap porno cover of a DVD." The following was her actual statement in relation to this.
"When Kim Kardashian's naked picture came out, [Sharon Osbourne] praised it, and my fans attacked her for being such a hypocrite. So it wasn't trashy and raunchy when a white woman did it, but it was when a black woman did it? It's quite pathetic and sad, but that is my reality, and I've gotten accustomed to just shutting it down."
This is what Nicki Minaj had to say about Kanye West and African-American men in general.
"I'm so tired of black women feeling that when our men get rich, they're going to leave them for a woman of a different race… It wasn't funny when Kanye said [in his 2005 hit 'Gold Digger'], 'When he get on, he'll leave your a*** for a white girl' - and Kanye happens to be with a white girl now. It wasn't funny when he said it; it was the f***ing truth."
This is according to the Independent. Nicki Minaj, however, stated that she had grown accustomed to the scenario, adding that having the right priorities in life also helps women overcome such obstacles. This was her statement in regard to this.
"Nowadays, I feel like [young women] see marrying into money -- I think that's a big thing now. I don't want that to be a woman's goal in life. I want your goal in life to be to become an entrepreneur, a rich woman, a career-driven woman. You have to be able to know that you need no man on this planet at all, period, and he should feel that, because when a man feels that you need him, he acts differently."
That said, Nicki Minaj was not done making her points about the African-American dating scene, and just last night at the TIDAL X 1015 concert, she attacked men whose preference is shallow women by referencing Donald Trump. The following was her remark while trying to drive the point that black men should date strong women and not be scared of getting hurt. The following were her exact words.
"You ni**as are so f**king weak. Y'all got the audacity to be intimidated by a bad mother**king queen and get your mother**cking feelings hurt. It's o-mother**cking-kay. Cause Barack needed a Michelle, b**ch. And Bill needed a mother**cking Hillary, b**ch. You better pray to God you don't get stuck with a mother**cking Melania. You ni**as want brainless b**ches to stroke your mother**cking ego. F**k you ni**a."
