Long before Donald Trump ran for President of the United States, he was famed for the reality TV show Celebrity Apprentice. Now some of those involved in that show are speaking out in the wake of other allegations about Trump’s treatment of women, alleging that Donald fired former contestant Khloe Kardashian based not on merit, but because of her appearance and her weight.
“Multiple” staff members from the celebrity edition of Apprentice revealed that Donald fired Kardashian from the eighth season based on her weight and looks, according to Us Weekly.
Trump allegedly called Khloe a “fat piglet” during her appearance in 2009. She was fired during the sixth episode. In addition, Donald reportedly compared the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star to her sister Kim Kardashian.
“He basically wanted to just get rid of her,” said one Apprentice editor. “He called her a ‘piglet’ [and said] ‘What is this? We can’t even get the hot one?’ [in a reference to Kim].”
Another source confirmed those remarks, sharing that Trump made some additional comments about Khloe.
“Why don’t we fire Khloe? She is a fat piglet. Why did we get the ugly Kardashian?”
Moreover, Us cites a third Apprentice insider alleging that Trump personally made sure that Khloe was fired from the reality TV competition.
“When they fired [her], it wasn’t on merit,” emphasized the third editor. “It was on him not liking her.”
During the boardroom segment of the show that featured Kardashian getting fired, Donald brought in Khloe’s March 2007 DUI as part of the reason.
“I hate people that drive under the influence. … When you told me that I actually lost a little respect for you,” said Trump. “If I had known that you were missing time from the task because of a DUI, you would have never been on the show.”
He then fired her.
Ironically, even though Donald allegedly wanted to know why the show had not gotten Kim instead of Khloe, Us points out that Trump previously attacked Kim for her weight. He mocked her weight gain during her pregnancy with North West.
“She’s gotten a little bit large,” criticized the now-Republican presidential nominee during a 2013 interview with HLN’s Showbiz Tonight. “I would say this, I don’t think you should dress like you weigh 120 pounds.”
The allegations regarding Donald’s comments about Khloe come in the wake of numerous other reports that Trump has made offensive remarks about women as well as sexually attacked them, pointed out Teen Vogue.
Moreover, Kardashian isn’t the only one adversely impacted by Donald’s alleged views toward women on Apprentice. The Republican presidential nominee also reportedly called actress Marlee Matlin, who is Deaf, “retarded” and allegedly made inappropriate sexual comments to her during her time as a contestant on his Celebrity Apprentice.
As for what Khloe has said in the past about her experience on Celebrity Apprentice, she talked with comedian Chelsea Handler on her Netflix talk show Chelsea about the stress. She admitted she was “stressing myself out, and then dealing with [Trump] and about to be fired, I’m like, ‘F*ck you. I don’t want to do this.”
Any chance she thinks Donald would be a good fit for the White House? Kardashian kept her response succinct.
“I don’t think he would make a good president.”
But Marlee has expressed her views about the allegation that Trump referred to her as “retarded.”
Following allegations from three Celebrity Apprentice staffers that Trump mocked Matlin for being Deaf, the actress expressed herself on Twitter, reported EW.
“Recent media reports have circulated that Donald Trump allegedly referred to me as ‘retarded,'” wrote Marlee. “The term is abhorrent and should never be used.”
Matlin shared why she feels it is “unacceptable” to discriminate in this way.
“I am Deaf. There are millions of Deaf and hard of hearing people like me, in the United States and around the world who face discrimination and misunderstanding like this on a daily basis. It is unacceptable.”
As for the election, the actress responded by sharing how she plans to use her “voice” to be heard.
“As a person who is deaf, as a woman, as a mom, as a wife, as an actor, I have a voice. And I’m using that voice to make myself heard…and vote,” she shared.
