Maksim Chmerkovskiy Shares ‘DWTS’ Future, Plans To Be A Stay-At-Home Dad

Maksim Chmerkovskiy is back on Dancing With the Stars again this season, but don’t get used to seeing him there. It turns out that he doesn’t have plans to stick around long-term at all. ET shared that Maksim is speaking out and revealing his plans for the future with his pregnant fiance Peta Murgatroyd. It sounds like this is probably the last time you will see Maks on the show.

In an interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Maksim Chmerkovskiy shared that he isn’t going to be on the dance floor next season. Here is what he had to say about it.

“First of all, like I’ve already said, I’m having the best time of my life on Dancing With the Stars. It’s a known fact. I’ve said it. I was quoted as saying the production is on point. I feel the love. I feel like everybody’s so friendly [and] we all work for the same goal, [which] is to keep dancing in television and produce a beautiful show. Having said that, I’m telling you right now I have zero interest in coming back as a dancer [next season].”

After that, Maksim Chmerkovskiy went on to explain the details about why he doesn’t want to do the show anymore. He is really excited to be a dad and spending time with his newborn at home is going to be his focus. Maks Chmerkovskiy isn’t even afraid of diaper duty. He has big plans to let Peta Murgatroyd follow her dreams and he will be a stay-at-home dad for the time being. He loves his idea, and Maks shared that there is no amount of money that will change his mind. He will be home with his child instead of on the dance floor next season.

When it comes to being a parent, Maks Chmerkovskiy said he will be the one spoiling and Peta will have to be the bad cop because she won’t have another choice. He isn’t afraid to have a Baby Bjorn and wear it either. Maks said, “I just want him to live right here [on my chest] until he’s about seven years old. Until he’s like, ‘Dad, I don’t wanna be here anymore.'”

EW shared that Maksim Chmerkovskiy is also talking about how Amber Rose is improving every single week. The more she is in the competition, the better Amber is doing. Maksim said he is very proud of Amber and went on to explain how she is doing better each week.

“Monday was great, and I think the only thing that changed is Amber’s fitness as a dancer. We’re in a totally different place than we were two weeks ago, or even one week ago. She has a different set of legs that work differently now than in the beginning — I can ask her to do things that I know she can do. She’s definitely improved as a dancer and I think it shows.”

Right now, Amber Rose and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are doing great, but so far she is not a frontrunner. It will be interesting to see if Maksim can pull off a win the last time he plans to be on the show. That would be a great way to end his time on DWTS. Fans will just have to wait and see if he ends up winning this season.
