‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Adam Newman Returns To Genoa City As The Main Storyline For February Sweeps

The Young and the Restless has lacked excitement since Justin Hartley left the role of Adam Newman several weeks ago. It looks like it could be a few months before the fans see Adam back on the show. As of right now, Young and the Restless production believes that Adam’s return to Genoa City will be the focal point in February 2017 sweeps month. The fans aren’t happy — that leaves four months without Adam, leaving Chadam in jeopardy.

Adam Newman has died several times on the CBS soap opera. Just two years ago, the fans was led to believe that he passed away in a burning car in a heated exchange with Billy Abbott. His wife, Chelsea, moved on and built a life with Billy, not knowing that he tried to kill her husband by shooting him before losing control of the car. The Young and the Restless fans grieved with Chelsea and wanted Adam to return. Many viewers feel that no one “gets Chelsea” like Adam — they are soul mates. So, when it came out that it could be four to five more months until Adam returns to his family, the fans came unhinged and worried that Chelsea could move on and complicate her reunion with him.

The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest that Adam’s return will be complicated by his wife’s relationship with his brother, Nick. It’s implied that by the time that he came back, Chelsea might be married to him, making a reunion almost impossible. Nick and Chelsea have a connection and are bonded by their connection to Adam.

The Young and the Restless revealed over the years that Nick and Adam’s relationship was a complicated one. Nick wasn’t his biggest supporter, but he was fair and understood that Adam got the short end of the stick most of the time. Nick knew he deserved more and wanted to be a better brother to him.

The biggest question about Adam’s return is, who will play him? Justin Hartley left the role for NBC’s This Is Us. Michael Muhney has stated a few times that he isn’t coming back to the CBS soap opera. CBS Soaps In Depth reports that Justin Hartley was open to the idea of appearing on The Young and the Restless every once in a while.

“I am a big fan of that genre,” Justin states. “I love the cast and the crew. I absolutely love Melissa Claire Egan—She’s one of my best friends in the world.”

It sounds like he had a great experience with the series, so would he return? The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate that Hartley never explicitly stated if he would return for a guest appearance, just that he appreciates the opportunity daytime soap operas gave him. He remembered his experience fondly and wished his former co-stars all the best.

It seems to conflict with the recent report from Celeb Dirty Laundry that implied that Hartley or Muhney would return to the role of Adam Newman. Neither actor has committed to the role. In fact, CBS hasn’t announced a casting call for the role, yet.

CBS revealed that if Adam Newman returns to The Young and the Restless, “he wouldn’t have a face change.” Many viewers took that to mean that someone who previously played Adam would step back into the role. Others interpreted that to mean they wouldn’t write any ridiculous plastic surgery storylines to explain his return.

As of right now, CBS has stayed quiet about Adam’s return to The Young and the Restless. It seems likely that he will show up in Genoa City in late February, but as of right now, CBS isn’t sure who will play the role.

The Young and the Restless fans, who would you like to play Adam Newman?
