Paris Hilton Gets A New Teacup Pup: Inside Her Obsession With Exotic Pets

Paris Hilton is in puppy love! The oldest daughter of Rick and Kathy Hilton recently posted photos of the newest addition to her family; an adorable teacup Chihuahua that she just purchased from a high-end boutique breeder. Paris posted several pics of the precious pup on her social media accounts, and it is clear that she is already smitten with her latest addition.

Paris hasn’t named the petite pooch yet, but she asked her social media followers to give her some suggestions. A few of Hilton’s own name picks include Diamond Baby and Lovebug.

Paris Hilton has always been an avid dog lover, and money is no object. According to TMZ, Hilton shelled out a whopping $8000 for the 4-month-old puppy, which was specially delivered to her in New York City from boutique dealer Teacup Puppy Paradise.

This is far from Paris Hilton’s first teacup pup purchase. TMZ reports that the DJ and entrepreneur bought two other designer dogs about a year ago, for a total cost of $25,000. In addition, two years ago, Paris brought home a teacup Pomeranian for $13,000.

Of course, many fans may recall Paris Hilton’s most famous dog, Tinkerbell. Paris’ legendary pet, who was her constant companion during her Simple Life days, passed away in 2015. At the time, a broken-hearted Hilton took to Instagram to post a tribute to Tinky, describing her beloved dog as “a special and incredible soul.”

“After 14 amazing years together my baby Tinkerbell has passed away of old age,” Hilton wrote at the time. “I feel like I’ve lost a member of my family…I will miss her & think about her for the rest of my life.”

Paris Hilton definitely treats her pets like family, and her dogs even have their own hotel. Well, sort of. In 2011, Hilton talked to ABC News reporter Dan Harris about her menagerie of pets and the high-end house that they live in. At the time, the hotel heiress had a whopping 17 pets, including cats, dogs, a miniature pig, a miniature pony, and bunnies.

But two years later, her animal collection had multiplied. In a 2013 interview with VH1, Paris Hilton rattled off the full list of her 35 pets, which, at the time, included seven dogs, three cats, six ferrets, four sugar gliders, a parrot, a pig, a pony, and yes, a partridge in a pear tree.

Because she has so many animals, Paris needs a spacious place to house them. In the ABC interview, Hilton talked about the elaborate backyard real estate that houses her pets.

“It’s basically a replica of my house,” Paris told ABC of the mini- mansion. “Inside is moldings and furniture and a chandelier and lighting and heat and air-conditioning.”

According to Nylon, Paris Hilton’s mini-mansion is a two-story, 300-square-foot replica of her house and it’s furnished by Philippe Starck and decorated by Faye Resnick. Paris’s supersized dog house is located in the backyard of her estate in Los Angeles.

Paris has said that she gets her love of animals from her dad. In a 2013 interview with Celebuzz, Hilton revealed that her famous dad had many exotic pets when he was younger. Paris also said her pets are like children to her and that she can’t pick a favorite.

“If could have more I would!” Hilton said. “I love animals and I think every animal deserves a good home. I am able to provide a good home for them with enough space to run around, take care all of them, and each can be spoiled equally. …. There are so many pets without homes, I just want to give a home to as many as I can!”

Paris said that pigs make very good pets, and they are very intelligent. As for the bunnies, she cleaned out a pet store when she overheard a customer saying he was going to feed them to his snake.

“I was at a pet store and there were all these sweet little innocent bunnies in a cage and some random guy in the store was laughing about how he loves watching his snake eat them,” Hilton revealed. “So I went and bought every single one.”
