Miley Cyrus Still With Liam Hemsworth After Gender Identity Crisis & Coming Out As Pansexual?

Miley Cyrus has been candid in discussing her sexuality for years. But now Miley is opening up more than ever before, talking about her gender identity crisis and coming out as “pansexual.” Have Cryus’ revelations affected her relationship with her off-again, on-again boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, and what does it really mean to be “pansexual”?

Although Cyrus has acquired a public image as a “wild child,” she told Variety that there’s a dramatic difference between the perception that she’s constantly partying and her own reality.

“People saw me as being wild, and literally all I do is I’m obsessed with yoga, I love hiking, and I’m reading constantly. My life is so positive,” pointed out Miley.

“From the outside, people think I’m partying with rappers. That was back in my prime.”

The 23-year-old also shared that she became involved with the LGBTQ community after struggling her “whole life” to comprehend her gender and sexuality, explaining why she dislikes the term “bisexual” while revealing that her first relationship was with a girl.

“My whole life, I didn’t understand my own gender and my own sexuality. I always hated the word “bisexual,” because that’s even putting me in a box,” clarified Cyrus. “I don’t ever think about someone being a boy or someone being a girl.”

When she was in the “fifth or sixth grade,” Miley started becoming more aware of gender identity issues, recalling that her first relationship “was with a chick.” The singer also discussed her background and her faith that her parents would eventually comprehend her.

“I grew up in a very religious Southern family,” revealed Cyrus. “The universe has always given me the power to know I’ll be OK. Even at that time, when my parents didn’t understand, I just felt that one day they are going to understand.”

As for what helped Cyrus to understand her gender, she described going to the LGBTQ center in Los Angeles and listening to other people’s stories. She found someone there to whom she could relate.

“I saw one human…who didn’t identify as male or female….They were both: beautiful and sexy and tough but vulnerable and feminine but masculine.”

Miley related to that individual “more than I related to anyone in my life,” she shared. Clarifying that she feels “very neutral,” the singer gradually began to understand her sexuality.

“Once I understood my gender more, which was unassigned, then I understood my sexuality more. I was like, ‘Oh — that’s why I don’t feel straight and I don’t feel gay. It’s because I’m not,'” she explained.

As for the term “pansexual,” Miley opined that the “LGBTQ alphabet could continue forever,” reported Seventeen. However, she believes that there’s at least one addition needed.

“There’s a “P” that should happen, for ‘pansexual,'” said Cyrus.

Now, after creating her Happy Hippie Foundation to help support the LGBTQ community, Miley feels empowered.

“My empowerment comes from feeling like I have a purpose now. On my tombstone, I didn’t want the ‘Wrecking Ball’ lyrics,” she emphasized. “I wanted it to be something greater.”

So where does Liam Hemsworth fit into this picture?

E News reported that Cyrus “loves” living with Liam. Although Miley has been candid about her desire not to be “put in a box” in terms of her sexuality, she and Hemsworth are engaged again and staying strong, a source told E News.

“Miley really loves nesting with Liam. She’s loving just being at home with him.”

Cyrus has become fond of cooking and even experimenting with new recipes, according to the insider.

But despite that report describing the Happy Hippie Foundation creator happily nesting at home with Hemsworth, an insider told Life & Style that the wedding has been called off.

Miley allegedly informed Liam that she required a break, flying to Tennessee this month. That voyage gave her time to visit with family and think about what had transpired in their relationship, explained the source.

“Miley said she didn’t feel like their relationship was strong enough to continue with the [wedding] plans. Liam was completely devastated and still is.”

Moreover, Hemsworth allegedly isn’t able to disguise his emotional pain from having his wedding to Cyrus called off.

“He won’t talk to anyone about it and doesn’t want to believe it’s real,” the insider added.
