Sonja Morgan Reveals What Went Wrong In Her Friendship With Ramona Singer

Sonja Morgan was labeled as an unreliable friend and an alcoholic on this past season of The Real Housewives of New York, which many thought was an unfair label. Morgan was working on her various business deals, and she enjoyed drinking a few glasses of wine with her friends. When her friend and co-star, Dorinda Medley, chose not to invite her to the Berkshires, Sonja felt personally excluded by the cast, and she decided to focus on her businesses. Sadly, things didn’t work out with her business when Bethenny Frankel learned of her new business name.

According to a new Bravo report, Sonja Morgan is now revealing that she and Bethenny Frankel have settled their drama since the show ended. When they were filming, Sonja was celebrating her launch of her Tipsy Girl Prosecco and a restaurant. Morgan has struggled with her restaurant, but Frankel thought that Sonja was trying to copy her brand and her business. She downright told Sonja that she didn’t want to have anything to do with her and their friendship was on slippery ice for a while. But Morgan wanted to fight for the friendship, and the two talked about the business decision.

“I pride myself on not burning bridges, which is why I was sick to my stomach when I had that big fight with Bethenny,” Sonja told The Daily Dish about her continuous drama with Bethenny Frankel over Tipsy Girl, adding, “My daughter was relieved [that we settled it] because she knows how I am.”

Sonja Morgan didn’t want to bother Frankel with her business dealings, and she kept saying that she would never reach Bethenny’s level of success. She wanted to give Bethenny a break, and she chose to settle the drama with her so that they could move on together as friends.

“And, also, I know that Bethenny, she’s going through so much with the divorce, ’cause I’ve been there [and] I would have been there to lighten it up, even at her barbecue, it was just too much. I’ve been there, going through a divorce and having to write a big check, my lawyers were millions of dollars. It’s hard.”

Sadly, things haven’t been so easy when it comes to Sonja Morgan’s long-time friend, Ramona Singer. The two have been inseparable for years, but it sounds like they have finally hit a rough point, where Morgan isn’t as willing to work things out with Ramona. Throughout the past couple of months, Singer has been vocal about Sonja’s drinking and she downright talked about Morgan as being an alcoholic. Sadly, she never talked to Sonja herself about it, so Morgan felt betrayed by her friend. Plus, there’s no support to get in regards to business.

“These girls have never Tweeted or Instagrammed any of my fashions. Ramona was terrible when she was on Watch What Happens Live when she said, ‘No, I didn’t order anything from her collection because it takes eight weeks.’ I mean just saying nothing. I mean, I love her, but she’s like that Labrador that just jumps up on you and she’s just ripping your suede jacket at the same time and you’re like, ‘OK.’ I have benched Ramona for a couple of years before. Sometimes you just need a break from her,” Sonja Morgan reveals, according to Bravo.

It sounds like Sonja will talk to Ramona again one day, but she just needs a break to deal with her emotions. Maybe they will start speaking again once the new season of The Real Housewives of New York stars filming again.
