Camila Cabello’s Solo Career Moves: Teams Up With Machine Gun Kelly

Camila Cabello is making the Fifth Harmony split and solo career rumors circulate again. It does not help that the singer has been collaborating with so many musicians and producers lately. Camila’s latest collaboration is with rapper Machine Gun Kelly.

The two are set to release their new song “Bad Things” on Friday, Oct. 14. Billboard has unveiled the cover art for the joint single. The cover photo shows a pair of lips made up of red flowers against a blue background. There are other details on the song’s sound and it will be featured on a new album by Machine Gun Kelly or Cabello herself.

Machine Gun Kelly and Camila Cabello have since tweeted the lyrics from their new song, however. MGK tweeted, “I want you forever even when we’re not together/ Scars on my body, I can look at you whenever,” while Cabello wrote, “Am I out of my head? Am I out of my mind?”

The song is the second collaboration for Cabello outside of Fifth Harmony. She previously collaborated with Shawn Mendes on their 2015 single “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” which hit the Billboard Hot 100 top 20, according to the Billboard report. This is the first new song from Machine Gun Kelly since the release of his 2015 album, General Admission. In addition to working with MGK, Cabello’s collaborations with Diplo and Chainsmokers are still underway. She has been seen working with both popular artists on her Snapchat account.

Fifth Harmony split rumors swirled since fans assume that bandmates Ally Brooke Hernandez, Dinah Jane Hansen, Lauren Jauregui, and Normani Kordei do not like the aspiring songstress. It’s also been believed that their feud ignited when she went behind their backs and worked with Mendes. Cabello has also been blamed for the cancellation of Fifth Harmony’s 7/27 World Tour.

The rumors spiraled when an alleged feud between members Normani Kordei and Cabello have been trending on social media. During an interview, Kordei was asked to describe each member of the girl group. When she was asked to give a word to describe Cabello, she kind of stumbled over her words.

According to A Dose of Sass, the other four members are frustrated on Cabello’s solo plans. Fans have also blamed Cabello’s close friendship with Taylor Swift as one of the reasons for their rumored breakup and her solo career plans. Most recently, Cabello left the stage in the middle of a performance citing “anxiety” as her reason. However, some fans assume she just wanted to leave the stage and not finish the tour, according to The Gamer’s Drop.

During the MTV VMAs after party, the remaining four members of Fifth Harmony were spotted partying without Cabello. Of course, she arrived late but ended up flying solo for most of the night. As soon as Cabello showed up to the party, all of the four members left. The girls were also seen celebrating the Fourth of July at their hotel in Brazil without Cabello.

She took to Snapchat to share that she’s been stuck inside her bathroom recording new music all night long. Fifth Harmony have announced the cancellation of their scheduled performances for the European leg of their tour, and have since cancelled their October and November shows in Cologne, Frankfurt, and Paris. The girls have not given a reason for the cancellation, leaving fans confused and wondering if Cabello will leave the group soon to pursue her solo music career.
