Perez Hilton Shares On Instagram That Angelina Jolie Wants To Sue Him For Covering ‘Brangelina’ Divorce

Perez Hilton took to his Instagram account on Sunday to share with his followers that Angelina Jolie wants to sue him for covering her split with Brad Pitt. Hilton wrote that Jolie’s lawyers contacted him recently with threats of a lawsuit if he didn’t change some content of an article he wrote about the ongoing “Brangelina” divorce. Using a few choice words, Perez Hilton fired back at Greenberg Glusker and posted his response on Instagram.

The 38-year-old celebrity gossip blogger said he’s always been a supporter and defender of Angelina Jolie, even throughout her nasty divorce from Brad Pitt. Perez Hilton has been updating readers of his self-titled blog steadily with “Brangelina” divorce news since Jolie separated from Pitt in September, citing irreconcilable differences. Hilton even has a “Brangelina” tab with an archive of all articles related to the couple’s “ugly divorce drama.”

It is not known exactly which article that Jolie’s lawyers, Bert Fields and Priya Sapori, want changed, but Perez Hilton wrote in no uncertain terms that he would not be “changing anything.” Hilton sent back an email reply to Jolie’s lawyers after they asked him to amend a blog post or face a lawsuit, as reported by Radar Online. A screenshot of Perez Hilton’s “email correspondence” to Greenberg Glusker was then shared on Instagram for over 500,000 followers to read; swear words and all.

Perez Hilton has been blogging about celebrities since 2004 and is known for speaking out against certain celebrity behavior, including Jolie allegedly wanting to “destroy” husband, Brad Pitt, after only a two-year marriage. Hilton published an article shortly after Jolie’s lawyers confirmed the “Brangelina” divorce last month, saying that Jolie was making Pitt out to be an abusive father, an unfaithful husband, and even a drug addict. But Perez Hilton wasn’t the only online media outlet reporting that story.

Us Weekly also wrote that Jolie had been planning a “smear campaign” against Pitt for years due to Pitt’s “terrible temper,” as described by friends close to the couple. Jolie allegedly had gotten tired of fighting with Pitt for over a decade and was planning a way to leave him, while still keeping custody of all six children. One friend close to Jolie shared that the 41-year-old actress was going to “destroy” her third husband, saying that “Angie says she is going to destroy him. If something is broken, she just throws it away.”

But Perez Hilton says he’s been nothing but supportive of Angelina Jolie since news of the “Brangelina” split became public in September. Hilton even shared that he “can’t blame a mother for doing whatever it takes to protect her kids.” Hilton also wrote in a blog post on October 1 that Jolie’s lawyers were not happy with what they called “false and inflammatory” media reports, including reports published by Perez Hilton. According to Hilton, Bertram Fields, on behalf of Jolie’s lawyers, released a letter to Hilton himself, saying that media leaks were putting the “health, welfare, and safety” of all six “Brangelina” children at risk.

Threats of a lawsuit came later, as Perez Hilton continued to write about the “Brangelina” divorce. On Sunday, Hilton posted on his Instagram account, @theperezhilton, that Greenberg Glusker had threatened to sue him for his coverage of Jolie’s split from #BradPitt.

“ME!! I have always been one of Angelina Jolie’s loudest and strongest supporters and defenders!!!!! This was my email back to Angelina’s lawyers, #BertFields and#PriyaSapori. Glad I’m not running for president!!”

The response back to Jolie’s lawyers from Perez Hilton ended with foul language, along with Hilton saying that he was “livid.” Hilton also went on to say that he wants an apology from Jolie unless she wants to turn him into an enemy. Perez Hilton even challenged Jolie to sue him, naming his own lawyer, and sending him duplicate copies of all email correspondence between himself and the Los Angeles law firm, Greenberg Glusker.

Followers of Perez Hilton now want to know what Jolie’s lawyers sent back. Hilton’s followers also think that his response to the threat of a lawsuit was not appropriate, and Jolie would never waste her time with an apology.

Oddly enough, Perez Hilton has not written anything about the “Brangelina” divorce in three days, after publishing a steady stream of “Brangelina” news since Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt on September 15, with even three or four blog posts in a day on occasion.
